Nuking the Pop Cult Section From Orbit (it's the only way to be sure)
[edit]I understand that those of us with no first-hand exposure to Japan outside anime and mangas will think that listing monsters that vaguely resemble Nurarihyon is somehow important. It isn't. First, nothing in Pop Cult is referenced, which means it shouldn't be there to begin with. Secondly, it embarrassing to the rest of us since it gives undue weight to things that are the definition of trivia. Once you break open an actual book (hint, hint) and do some research that would stand up to academic inquiry (and if you're not old enough to know what academic research requires ... how cute!), in other words take Japanese mythology seriously, then whatever you come up with should and will go into this article. Anything else needs to be drop kicked and deleted.Duende-Poetry (talk) 21:28, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
Deleting Pop Culture References
[edit]This. I know there are a hundred characters that look like or are based on nurarihyon in your favorite manga or anime. But that does not belong on this Wikipedia page. Following the suggestions here, any lists like that will be deleted. We can't have every page with Japanese content being turned into a list of anime characters. I realize that folks who place those lists here are well meaning, but please refrain from doing so. It will be deleted immediately. Instead, you should place that kind of information on their own Wikipedia pages, and link back to this one. Osarusan (talk) 12:34, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- I removed another long list of pop culture references to anime and manga, as it seems to have regenerated itself since the last one was removed. Please refrain from making lists of pop culture references on these pages. Osarusan (talk) 00:52, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
