Lead

[edit]
  • "Nothin' on You" is the debut solo and lead single by American rapper B.o.B" → "Nothin' on You" is the debut single by American rapper B.o.B
  • "The track features American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars on the chorus" → Change to → The song features additional vocals from American singer Bruno Mars. The word "songwriter" sound unnecessary in this sentence.
  • "It was written by Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr., along with Mars, Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine of The Smeezingtons. "The production was handled by the latter three as The Smeezingtons."→ Add a comma after "three" and complete this sentence with "who worked collectively as The Smeezingtons."
  • The song was supposed to be for Lupe Fiasco → The song was initially written for Lupe Fiasco
  • Music critics gave the song generally positive reviews, praising it for its sweetness and positive vibe, while a few criticized the track due to Mars' performance. → "Some music critics praised its sweetness and positive vibe, while..."

 Done

Background and production

[edit]

Can you merge "background and production" with "conception and writing"? The information presented in those section is practically the same; Would be nice if you introduce the section with the first paragraph of "conception and writing".

@LikeGaga: Sure, what do you want to call the section then? Any suggestions? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 19:09, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Composition and influences

[edit]
  • "Nothin' on You" has been labeled as an R&B, hip hop, and pop, culminating in a "Southern rap ballad". It has been described as "slow" and "lulling", as well as, "charming and unabashedly sweet", having an "up lifting melody". Its chorus and bridge is "silky-smooth". Pitchfork's Jayson Greene said the whole album sound as a "sticky-sweet" for "modern-rock radio", including "Nothin' on You". Angus Batey from The Guardian called the recording "glorious, euphoric, essentially old-fashioned kind of love song". Introduce the section with this sentence.
  • "B.o.B co-wrote "Nothin' on You" with Mars, Lawrence and Ari Levine, the latter three also produced the song, under their alias The Smeezingtons." -> Please, remove this sentence, this information can is too repetitive, it can be find in the lead and in previous sections.
  • In the sound sample, you would add a more detailed description to explain the elements presents in the song which can be heard in the sample.

Done please take a look at the third one. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 19:04, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reception

[edit]
  • Seems fine! :)

Chart performance

[edit]
  • "In the United States, "Nothin' on You" debuted at number ??? on the Billboard Hot 100..." -> I guess, you forgot something here.

Done Quite silly, I completely forgot this.

Music video

[edit]
  • "The music video for "Nothin' on You" It was directed by Ethan Lader, while the animation process was conducted by George Rausch." -> Filmed in Los Angeles, California, the music video for "Nothin' on You" was directed by Ethan Lader, while the animation process conducted by George Rausch."

 Done

Live performance

[edit]
  • Fine! :)

Cover versions and media usage
