Is it just me or...?
[edit]Is the title a little redundnat? Do we need 1888 two times? Thanx. 68.39.174.238 05:25, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Headings too long
[edit]I think the headings are too long and wordy and should be shortened (but I 'm not sure what to change them to). RJFJR (talk) 17:06, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Final words on the interaction between the individual and institutional level

In some research there may have been a tendency to focus on the organisations behind the expos. And with an exaggerated claim, see these as blocks of people working in the same state of mind.
The above tries to show how individuals were the leading factor in the first stage towards the establishment of this particular expo. And points out that there were absolutely no unity in the association, which hitherto has been seen as the leading ‘actor’, in those years the project was nothing fancier but talk. Later, when the expo became an established story of success everyone, of cause, remembered how this feeling had followed the project from the start.
This approach is not taken to undermine the role of institutions as long-time agents of change. More often than not these acted as important platforms to the expositional ideas of the period. The point is rather, that by holding the magnifying glass towards individuals, we may be able to see the personal agenda beneath the often much highlighted celebration themes. Thereby we may also be able to study how actions on both institutional and individual levels intertwined and promoted the idea of this or that expo.
