Move?
[edit]User:Amyabaker/Noddle → Noddle –
- Am too new of a user to move it myself Amyabaker (talk) 21:23, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- I think you meant User:Amyabaker/Noddle? Powers T 13:43, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Is it notable? WP:SPAM? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 15:22, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- I reviewed the sources and clearly meets the generic notability guideline; each of the four sources is independent and provides significant coverage. Powers T 16:44, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, creating new articles is beyond the scope of the Requested moves process. Please submit your request to Articles for Creation. You can do so by adding {{subst:AFC submission/submit}} to the top of the article. Feel free to contact me on my talk page with any questions. Happy editing. Cliff (talk) 19:34, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- With due respect, Cliff, I think you're off-base here. The article wizard explicitly asks new users to create drafts in their userspace that will then be moved to article space -- and since Noddle already exists as a redirect to a different article, WP:RM is the only way to do that. User:Amyabaker followed the directions to the letter, as far as I can see, and shouldn't be chastised for not using AFC, which is an alternative process. Powers T 20:20, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Not trying to "chastize", I'm only trying to help remove a backlog at WP:RM. Moves from userspace are indicated there to be beyond the scope of the process. The current, redirecting noddle will have to be deleted to make way for this new article, ok. I'm just removing userspace moves. Please assume my good faith. Cliff (talk) 20:30, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- A disambiguator is needed, e.g. Noddle (credit report service). The main use of the word "noddle" is as slang for "head". Currently Noddle is a disambig page. See also All pages with titles containing noddle. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:30, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- I disagree; an uncommon slang term can easily be handled by a hatnote. Powers T 11:47, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- If the free credit report service is the dominant meaning. There are countless small financial services. Noddle can also mean either of two men and an island. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:46, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, I missed that you'd changed Noddle into a disambiguation page. That's fine with me. Powers T 13:22, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
