Proposed split of article

[edit]

Seeing as this article is in desperate need of a clean-up and that the album is now officially Hole's, I suggest splitting the article in two. Most of the information is not only outdated but concerns How Dirty Girls Get Clean, Courtney Love's unreleased solo album which was finished, scrapped, reworked, scrapped again but then began working on Nobody's Daughter.

The How Dirty Girls Get Clean article would contain all of the information prior to 2009, as this is when the album was scrapped for the second time. The Nodody's Daughter article would contain information from 2009-present, when it was reworked (and now eventually released) under Hole's name. There is enough information to let both articles live up to Wikipedia's standards.

Opinions? Idiotchalk (talk) 01:36, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, all of the information shows the development of the album and of Love's thought process. More than 5 songs are from that first album idea.--86.15.83.152 (talk) 19:57, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date

[edit]

Well the album was not released on courtneylove.com on new years day so I deleted that false info —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.17.216.148 (talk) 16:22, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I put February 9, 2009 as the release date because i have a source. The information was not false it was just not followed through with for some reason. But hey January 1 isn't over yet so it might happen (I hope!).

Ok...sorry I deleted the HMV Feb 9 source. I think the Jan. 1st Elle Magazine source that stated Nobody's Daughter would be released on courtneylove.com was faked though. I don't have that magazine but someone could have easily wrote the false info on the page with a marker and then scanned it and used it as a source. Courtney never mentioned anything on her myspace about the album being released on courtneylove.com on New Years Day. I think someone just had to much time on their hands and chose to put false info out there. So frustrating. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.17.216.148 (talk) 19:52, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

^ Someone did not write false information onto the page, it was actually published like that in Elle Magazine. The release date and the album's delay is actually addressed in the latest blog on her myspace page.

False Info

[edit]

According to the manager of Courtney's website and myspace, these tracks will not appear on the album:

Can You Make Me Cry?
Too Much Dope
I See Red
Good in Bed
In My Gutters
Leading Man
Wildfire
My Bedroom Walls

Also, the album artwork posted is NOT real and should be removed asap. No album cover has been released for this album yet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matthewbdunn (talkcontribs) 21:59, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gwen Stefani collab?

[edit]

Whatever happened to this? Was it rumours? -Anthony- 11:14, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quite possibly- Gwen Stefani and Courtney Love have their differences (chiefly Gavin Rossdale) and most likely wouldn't be collaboration-happy in this lifetime. But then again, anything is possible. p.s. Whoever worked on this page, it's very well done and comprehensive. Blackmorningsun 21:41, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Track Listing???

[edit]

I don't get it; how can there be a final track listing with song lengths if it's failed to me mixed, finalized and even officially announced for release. I'll admit it does look very professional, but there are no sources for it. Anyone know anything?? LoveLaced 03:56, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's a work of the courtneylove.com/MWR forums who are the official sites for Love at present. I personally did not care for it, and don't miss it now it's gone.--Manboobies 14:01, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Will the false cover be removed from this entry as people who work with her have said it is not the real cover(http://forums.courtneylove.com/showthread.php?t=322&page=13&highlight=album+cover) ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Smellfer (talkcontribs) 12:23, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scrapped

[edit]

Apparently, the album has been scrapped, though Love has yet to confirm it, but because there was a lot of notable media coverage, it shouldn't be deleted, right? I just want to see. LoveLaced (talk) 16:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has not been scrapped even love came out and came out and said so--TjTerror (talk) 21:01, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pacific Coast Highway

[edit]

I think it's a cover from You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk by the Pet Shop Boys, because it sounds really similar, at least the beginning. Does somebody know if it's a cover or if she sampled the song as a tribute or something? It should be indicated, that's why I point this out. --Agusk7 (talk) 00:21, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No it's not, it's not even that similar.

Nobodies vs Nobody's

[edit]

I know the album has been spelt as "Nobody's Daughter" in many articles.

In the January 2009 edition of Elle magazine they also spell it as "Nobody's Daughter" in the article yet on some of the pages Courtney herself has written on them "Nobodies Daughter comes to courtneylove.com on Jan 1 09"

Here is the link to a page from Elle Magazine

What do you think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Beautiful&Dying (talkcontribs) 18:44, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that Courtney is a bad enough speller (ever read her blog posts?) that she could manage to get the name of her next album wrong. There's another discussion of this at Talk:Courtney_Love#The_new_album_title.2C_Nobodies_vs._Nobody.27s -- Foetusized (talk) 23:26, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The new website, as tweeted by Courtney and live since 1 Jan 2010, is Nobody's Daughter. Interestingly, it has links to the Hole Facebook page and mailing lists, which does make it seem like a Hole project. gothick (talk) 12:12, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Artwork

[edit]

Can someone please verify a source for the artwork? 87.232.59.17 (talk) 14:22, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hole?

[edit]

The album is by Courtney Love, not Hole ScarTissueBloodBlister (talk) 04:51, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Eric Erlandson says so here http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2009/07/14/courtney_love_banned_from_using_hole_1 ScarTissueBloodBlister (talk) 16:16, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Courtney Love says it's Hole, and she's probably going to release it under that name whether the rest of the band shows up or not. Zazaban (talk) 22:53, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt it.. she probably get a lawsuit from Erlandson if she does ScarTissueBloodBlister (talk) 01:47, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it looks like she's doing it. Zazaban (talk) 20:29, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
