Problem editing

[edit]

Started writing this page, but had to give up because the editing function wasn't working. There's lots of useful links in hidden text if anyone wants to continue it. Lampman (talk) 19:03, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done.

Lead
  • I fixed up some issues here myself.

Thank you!

Background
  • Jay-Z and Kanye West are both American rappers who have collaborated on several tracks together. --> No need to use the word "both" and how about mentioning a few of the songs they did together previously?

Done

Composition
  • Where is the source for the "hip hop" genre?
  • About Ocean's chorus --> On Ocean's chorus

Both done.

Reception
  • If a title within quotes is present, you use this --> ' <-- (for the life of me, I cannot think of its name) for the title.

Done?

Promotion
  • Link to Watch the Throne Tour
  • on locations in the Czech Republic --> in the Czech Republic
  • 29th of May --> May 29, 2012

Done.

Charts
  • No sources?

Over-sight, has been done.

References
  • A few publishers are missing. Such as Pitchfork Media and Now.
  • Ref 30 - Rollingstone.com --> Rolling Stone. Wenner Media
  • The correct publisher for Billboard is Prometheus Global Media
  • Idolator (website) --> Idolator
  • MTV. Viacom --> MTV News. MTV Networks
  • Just a few examples of the issues with the refs. There are more. Check to make sure they are all correct.

Have been corrected. Though Pitchfork has no publisher as far as I'm aware.

Release date wrong?

[edit]

This album was released in 2011, but the sidebar mentions March 2012 as the release date. I am not sure where this date comes from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.229.216.81 (talk) 16:32, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Video clip referenced on arrest of Dmitry Bogatov

[edit]

This video clip posted from Bogatov's IP-Address (a Tor (anonymity network) exit node) was part of the explanation for his arrest in Russia.

To substantiate the need of Bogatov's arrest investigator pointed to video showing "mass riots and police disobedience". The only one video posted by Airat Bashirov is a music clip of hip-hop performers Kanye West and Jay-Z "No Church in The Wild". --https://freebogatov.org/en/

Another post linked to the music video for Kanye West’s “No Church in the Wild,” described by investigators as “a video recording with insubordination to the legal demands of the police, and mass disorder.” --https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2017/04/access-now-and-eff-condemn-arrest-tor-node-operator-dmitry-bogatov-russia

This kind of impact of this clip should be mentioned in the article, to contrast the praise for its aesthetics.

Songs Critical of Religion

[edit]

Should this article be added to the category "Songs Critical of Religion"? If one reads its lyrics online, one may well feel it should. YTKJ (talk) 14:24, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
