Missing sources
[edit]As Renata3 noted elsewhere: "The article cites several short footnotes that do not correspond to any sources listed in the bibliography. Specifically:"
- Franks 1997
- Caldwell 1998
- Weal 2007
- Bergström 2015
- de Zeng, Stankey & Creek 2007
Since the author responsible has absented themself, can anyone else kindly assist? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:20, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Bergstrom 2015 is possibly Bergström, Christer (2015). The Battle of Britain: An Epic Conflict Revisited. Casemate / Vaktel Forlag. ISBN 978-1-61200-364-1. (t · c) buidhe 19:51, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- de Zeng, Stankey & Creek 2007 seems to be Bomber Units of the Luftwaffe 1933-1945; A Reference Source. Vol. 1. 2007. ISBN 9781857802795. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:43, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- de Zeng et al looks like [1] or possibly volume 2, which has Eddie Creek as an additional author, but was published the next year,
- Weal 2007 might be Jagdgeschwader 51 'Mölders' (Aviation Elite Units No. 22) by John Weal, publ 2006 (so wrong year), but the author looks likely. You can look up the author on Amazon for all the other possibilities.
- There is a Donald Caldwell who has written JG 26 Luftwaffe Fighter Wing War Diary: 1939-42 (Stackpole Military History) ISBN 978-0811710770 this precise book does not match the publication date but there appears to be an earlier volume/edition, but date is garbled in my source.
- Franks turns out to be the most difficult to search for reasonable candidates. Hope this is of some help.ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 22:01, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Pinging Dapi89 who added these cites in April this year, can you help? - Dumelow (talk) 22:17, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Dapi89 was asked about this on their talk page last month, and has not responded, It's not the only article where there have been serous problems with their sourcing, and others may need checking. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:05, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

I have all of these except Franks.
- For de Zeng, it's definitely vol. 1 as I've confirmed the page #.
- Franks might be Franks, Norman Leslie Robert. Royal Air Force Fighter Command Losses of the Second World War. Leicester: Midland, 1997. Vol. 1 Operational losses: aircraft and crews 1939-1941 ISBN 1857800559
- I've confirmed the page # for Weal, John. Jagdgeschwader 53 'Pik-As'. Oxford: Osprey Publishing, 2007. ISBN 9781846032042
- Same for Caldwell. It's actually 1996, not 1998 Caldwell, Donald L. The JG 26 War Diary. 1939-1942 Vol. 1 1996. ISBN 1898697523
- Almost positive that Buidhe is correct about Bergstrom, but con't confirm the page number because my copy is an epub.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 02:17, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

@Andy Mabbett You're being dishonest again. Be specific. Dapi89 (talk) 12:11, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- The facts are all verifiable from the links I provided. The same cannot be said, however, for your vague, unsubstantiated and false allegation of dishonesty. I also note that you have previously been blocked for making personal attacks relating to this matter, and that an admin blocked you from editing the article in question; a block which remains in force. They are, and it shows there are no issues with the sources and the duspute revolved around what type of bird caused the accident. Everything in that article was sourced appropriately; so there are no serious problems. That claim is false, the dishonesty, clear. Subsequently you've made unchallenged claims about the sources and made deletions on said article. Nothing vague about any of this. And it appears none of above editors have taken any notice of it.Dapi89 (talk) 17:41, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
