Location of NMUK
[edit]Is there a reason that the location of Nissan UK and various models produced there is frequently given as Washington and the factory described as their "Washington" plant, when Nissan never refer to it as anything other than their Sunderland plant? Even the sign at the entrance to the complex says "Nissan Sunderland". I know that Washington is part of the City of Sunderland but it seems strange to insist the factory is in Washington. On checking Google Earth, the distance from the middle of the complex to The Galleries in Washington is only just over half a mile less then the distance from the factory to the centre of the city of Sunderland. Added to this is the proximity to Sunderland housing estates which are immediately over the A19 - i.e. much closer than Washington housing. Another point is the confusion to readers globally by insisting on using the Washington nomenclature. Most readers would think of Washington DC in the USA. What is the consensus here? Not replace X-Trail
[edit]The Nissan Qashqai does not replace the X-Trail as Nissan will be launching the new X-Trail at the Geneva Motorshow next month (March 2007)
Merger proposal
[edit]Should the content of the page on the North American Nissan Rogue be merged with this page and the page changed to a redirect pointing here?
Someone suggested this over on the Rogue's talk page a couple of years back but it was never tagged so the discussion stalled. Since the two vehicles seem to be very closely related, (the Rogue is arguably a regional variant of the Quashqai) perhaps the subject would be better served by a single page? - The Rogue is different enough that it should remain on its own page. Because it's the same size and chassis doesn't necessarily make it the same car. --Vossanova o< 20:32, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- I agree that same size/platform doesn't make it the same car but I'm struggling to see what the differences are? Do you have any details on that Vossanova? Splateagle (talk) 16:14, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
The Rogue is a different car. They may share a platform, but the body panels are all different. They have a similar dash assembly. Rogue is also 2.5L only, whereas QQ does not have that engine. Regardless of the decision, the Qashqai came first, and is the bigger seller, and is also the vehicle sold in more markets, therefore the QQ should be the parent page. - Neither this nor the other merge discussion went anywhere. I've removed the merge proposal templates. 72.244.206.114 (talk) 07:06, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

7-Speed Dual clutch transmission available from 2019 model year. On what market besides UK? Is it a Getrag? Is there a codename for it? Needs some thorough research.

Distinction with Nissan Rogue
[edit]@Andra Febrian: Greetings! I'm a bit confused about this revert. It's my understanding that the Nissan Rogue Sport and the Nissan Qashqai are the same car by different names, and that the Qashqai is a smaller version of the Nissan Rogue? Is that incorrect? -- Beland (talk) 20:53, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, that's mostly correct, they use similar platforms and the same front dashboard. However in case of cars, saying the A car is a smaller version of the B car is something I wouldn't recommend, because where do we draw the line? Can I say the BMW 3 Series is a smaller version of the BMW 5 Series? It shares the similar platform and some engines are shared.
- The way I see it there should be a clear cut for this kind of statement. Just an example: we can say that the Peugeot 5008 II is the longer version of the Peugeot 3008 II because it's easily demonstratable that the vehicles are the same from B-pillar to the front, while the Qashqai-Rogue has many differences that can be pointed visually.
