Picture

[edit]

I can't believe that some old fart (like me) doesn't have an early 80's picture of Nina that could be donated to the public domain. --Geneb1955 (talk) 12:24, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maine

[edit]

She now lives in Maine and records her radio shows from her home studio. Source: http://www.pressherald.com/news/Original-MTV-VJ-finds-excitement-of-a-new-kind-in-Maine.html 64.185.131.107 (talk) 18:14, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Playboy appearance...not really a citation, but...

[edit]

I am not sure if this counts as a citation, but Nina Blackwood DID appear in Playboy as a brunette. I saw it; she was also dripping Liquid Paper on her chest. A friend of mine somehow acquired the issue in about 1984-85 and we wondered if it was the same one as the one on MTV.--Dyscard (talk) 05:14, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. She appeared in August 1978, and when she made it big on MTV the republished the photos. She said she regretted the shoot in the book "VJ: The Unplugged Adventures of MTV's First Wave" Sabalon (talk) 04:50, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate

[edit]

There is some question about when Nina Blackwood graduated from Rocky River High School (1970) as it relates to her listed birthdate (1955). The information about her graduation comes from The Plain Dealer, a Pulitzer Prize-winning major daily newspaper; whereas, the information cited for her birthdate is taken from IMDB, which is a publicly-edited forum much like Wikipedia. Since the newspaper reporter is required to fact-check his information prior to publication, it is more likely that the date of her graduation is more accurate than her listed birthdate.--Max Density (talk) 21:24, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Her birthday is most likely incorrect. The 1970 Yearbook of Rocky River High School is online at Classmates.com [[1]] and she can be found on page 52, under her birth name. Sabalon (talk) 04:43, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ms. Blackwood does not, I repeat NOT, have any nude pictures in the August 1978 issue of Playboy Magazine, as was stated in your article. I know this because I just purchased a copy of this issue and, to my disappointment, didn't find any nude pictures of her. You should update this article to correct this inaccuracy. dennissnobody@live.com.67.100.100.188 (talk) 22:20, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Wave Nation

[edit]

I've been listening to New Wave Nation in Ann Arbor for years, so I'd have to say that the comment about it no longer being produced as of 2014 is no longer accurate. I'd fix it, but if the show went off the air for a while it would make sense to retain that information, and I'm not in a position to research it at the moment.
