My username comes from the novel The Age Of The ConglomeratesItalic text by Thomas Nevins.

I am (at the time of writing) 46 years old and live in the "Thumb" of Michigan, not far from the Canadian border. I am happily married, no children but one spoilt cat.

I served in the Indiana Air National Guard 122nd Fighter Wing. I am currently a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol and have also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

I am a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod but have also been a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America and the United Methodist Church. Theology is one of my primary interests, particularly Bible translations.

Another of my major interests is heavy metal music, particularly the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. I am a guitarist of 33 years standing and also fiddle about with keyboards, drums and bass guitar.

I am an amateur vexillologist, with a particular interest in British ensigns.

I am afflicted with severe depression, panic disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. I am not ashamed of it and try to advocate for fellow-sufferers whenever I can, but if ridiculed or subjected to "lay diagnosis" I can be most unpleasant.
