DYK

[edit]

Started after watching BBC4 Indian Hill Railways: Three-part series looking at the little trains have climbed through the Indian clouds for a hundred years, from the Himalayas in the north to the Nilgiris in the south and wondering about the engines. (Msrasnw (talk) 20:02, 22 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I propose to do a DYK for this. Somthing along the lines of ... that the NMR is preposing to build four new locomotives of the X class, Any suggestions - help? (Msrasnw (talk) 15:31, 23 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Ooops - I've just done the DYK suggestion based on the interesting cylinder arrangement. I only read your request for suggestions after I'd already posted it. Feel free to change it if you have a better suggestion. - Zzrbiker (talk) 03:43, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your suggestion might well be better - feel free to change the DYK thing if you'd like. (Msrasnw (talk) 11:30, 27 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Article title

[edit]

While I think this is a well-written and well-referenced article, I would suggest that the page be moved so the title matches a general convention for locomotive articles in Wikipedia which is to have the name of the railway followed by the class of the locomotive, eg, NZR AA class, LNER Class A4, Victorian Railways S class, etc. On this basis, I'd be suggesting we move the article to a new name of Nilgiri Mountain Railway X class. - Zzrbiker (talk) 03:16, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the name sounds fine to me sorry for getting it wrong - I should have checked more. A problem is it is already in DYK with this name - will it matter? I can't find much about the new engines though and am still looking for more info. Best wishes (Msrasnw (talk) 11:12, 27 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]
No it's fine, when you move an article Wikipedia automatically creates a redirect at the old page title to auto-forward the user to the new page name.
Best of luck with improving the article. - Zzrbiker (talk) 10:20, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

general txt ed

[edit]

Hi there, I removed some typos and did some general txt ed; hope it is an improvement. The Conversion to oil paragraph is however not entirely clear to me; the number 37395, is that the number of one of the locomotives? If so, that should perhaps be clarified. Also, links to web pages should be layouted as the first one (see also here). Good luck with editing! Zoeperkoe (talk) 02:09, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks - I think I have clarified 37395 now. Best wishes (Msrasnw (talk) 11:55, 2 March 2010 (UTC))[reply]
