This page should not be speedily deleted because...
Per WP:G4 – G4 "excludes pages that are not substantially identical to the deleted version, pages to which the reason for the deletion no longer applies". This article is nothing like the previous deleted version, which can be seen here. I spent a good two weeks on this article getting it to a good standard. The user who has put this article up for speedy deletion has also tagged this article with a WP:COI notice. Per my original article creation edit summary – I did have correspondence with Nick VanderLaan himself. He reached out to me earlier this month to ask whether or not I would be willing to re-create a Wikipedia article on him. He believed he met WP:NBASKETBALL and/or WP:GNG. I agreed to look into his case and upon further digging, I too agreed he met notability guidelines, so I went ahead and did an article on him from scratch in my sandbox. I do not know VanderLaan personally, nor did I write the article from a bias POV. I created the article like I would for any basketball player. I considered it a challenge for myself – to prove this players' notability. I put a considerable amount of effort into referencing seeing as the article was deleted before based off not having enough reliable, independent sources. I feel the speedy deletion attempt is unjust and does not apply. DaHuzyBru (talk) 09:45, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
VanderLaan may be the current "CEO of Gold Mart", however, the source with this information seems to be from a website that promotes some kind of event where VanderLaan was present. How that website found out about about VanderLaan's job is unclear. If this CEO position is relevant it needs better sourcing than presently given. --VanBuren (talk) 18:18, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
