Whither Queens?

[edit]

According to our chart there are no district in Queens? --Golbez (talk) 20:05, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Queens districts are all broken down by neighborhood. If one were writing a letter to somebody in Queens you wouldn't address it "Queens, NY" but rather "Flushing, NY," "Long Island City, NY," etc... This is how the state and city define them as well. I would argue it might be helpful to have, say, "Queens (Forest Hills)" written. It would be good to expand the neighborhood approach to the other NYC districts too, but that might be too large of an undertaking. Metstotop333 (talk) 06:07, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

majority leader

[edit]

Ron Canestrari has retired. As of January 9th, the new majority leader is Joe Morelle of Rochester. 74.69.11.229 (talk) 21:58, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please fix the chart template

temporary leadership structure

[edit]

The Speaker's spokesman announced a new five-person leadership 'team' responsible for carrying out his duties while he fights a political scandal. The members are Morelle of Irondequoit, Joe Lentol of Fort Greene, Carl Heastie of Williamsbridge and Eastchester, Denny Farrell of Washington Heights and Cathy Nolan of Ridgewood. I know this probably not considered 'important' to some self-important editor or 'not a newspaper' by another but one of the most powerful people in N.Y. State is unprecedentedly assigning his duties to other people while maintaining the title and privileges of the office. This could institutionally be a big deal and should be mentioned. 66.67.32.161 (talk) 19:41, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong

[edit]

Sheldon Silver is NOT the Speaker of the Assembly. He is a backbencher. Joseph Morelle is Acting Speaker and will be succeeded by Carl Heastie later today. Please update this to reflect reality. 66.67.32.161 (talk) 14:18, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Democratic Party of New York

[edit]

Currently it's listed in the infobox as both a ruling party and an opposition party. How is this possible?—Stepheng3 (talk) 22:40, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
