Date of the Bristol House

[edit]

I think the date of the Bristol House from which the fittings came is early Jacobean, not Tudor. I only have the 1967 edition of Pevsner. That edition refers to an early 17th Century house, and states 1623-8 for the fittings. OK, the house could have been built 1600-1603 and been both early 17th Century and Elizabethan, but unless the 2018 edition of Pevsner says something different from the 1967 one, I suggest we just refer to the house as early 17th Century. Kognos - the door is dated 1623, so that makes sense. Fine with either Jacobean or early C.17. KJP1 (talk) 14:46, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
