Very Unclear

[edit]

After reading this article, I still don't know what a New Economic Zone was, who lived in them, or why they existed. It mentioned Northerners migrating into the the South and displacing Southerners, but it says absolutely nothing about how this event is related to New Economic Zones. Were the places the Northerners moved into called New Economic Zones? Were the displaced Southerners moved into New Economic Zones? (I'm guessing the latter.) The article also says basically nothing about New Economic Zones except that they were bad. What about them was economically new?DubleH (talk) 18:16, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is very inside baseball, though communist behavior elsewhere makes it pretty easy to fill in the blanks with likely behavior. Northerners in 1975 moved south and displaced unfavored southerners. The southerners went to the New Economic zones which were the Vietnamese equivalent of Siberia.
