disambiguation needed

When this article is put in mainspace, will be time to create a disambiguation page for Van der Leeuw House, to link to this house and also to a "Van der Leeuw House", in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, designed by Leendert van der Vlugt. Pic of house at Leendert van der Vlugt#Complications Authorship.

Getting pics

I may be able to get some. Also could contact Lauren Weiss Bricker (phone number given in NRHP application as first author) and/or others at Cal Poly Pomona for archives pics, included in PDF, and/or for more recent pics. Or Julius Shulman, credited for some of pics in PDF. Probably first contact Bricker. doncram (talk) 21:25, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Square footage

Various articles indicate the original house was 2,000 square feet and the redesigned structure from 1964 was 2,300 square feet. The 4,200 square feet listed in the info box must include the space in the garden house as well (??) Cbl62 (talk) 01:11, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

The 4,200 feet is the size of the lot itself, per the NRHP application, in section 10 i think just before the author info. I could check also at the LA county assessor's website, which i think reports such info, but that is about the right size for a smallish lot. doncram (talk) 01:24, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
The county assessor webpage doesn't state lot size. It lists three buildings:
Improvement 1
 Square Footage 2,174

 Year Built / Effective Year Built 1964 / 1964
 Bedrooms / Bathrooms 3 / 3
 Units 1

Improvement 2
 Square Footage 1,033
 Year Built / Effective Year Built 1939 / 1941
 Bedrooms / Bathrooms 2 / 1
 Units 1

Improvement 3
 Square Footage 294
 Year Built / Effective Year Built 1974 / 1974
 Bedrooms / Bathrooms 0 / 0
 Units 0

and it shows it as a tax-exempt property:

 Recording Date 09/01/1990
 Land $394,106

 Improvements $274,636

 Personal Property $0

 Fixtures $0

 Homeowners' Exemption $0

 Real Estate Exemption $668,742

 Personal Property Exemption $0

 Fixture Exemption $0

This is for

Assessor's ID No. 5439-004-011
Site Address 2300 SILVER LAKE BLVD
LOS ANGELES CA 90039
 Property Type Commercial / Industrial
 Region / Cluster 04 / 04423
 Tax Rate Area (TRA) 00013

That is most of what the assessor search gives for the place. doncram (talk) 01:37, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

DYK phrase

Wow, thanks for developing the article cbl! It must be long enough to meet DYK eligibility already. Yes, in Word i count the main text at more than 2,800 characters, after deleting the quotations and footnotes. So I would be happy for this to get moved into mainspace and into the DYK process right away. I will add pics later. What works for a DYK phrase?

Just trying one (not good): Did you know that "...the Neutra Research House in Silver Lake, applied architect Richard Neutra's innovations for high-end design in a less affluent setting?" doncram (talk) 01:22, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Or how about: Did you know that "...architect Richard Neutra used mirrors and reflecting pools to provide spaciousness for his home on a small lot, the Neutra VDL Studio and Residences (pictured), on Silver Lake in Los Angeles?" doncram (talk) 20:28, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

I'd like to improve the pic and improve the wording, too, to be discussed here or at DYK. But I'm using the above one to nominate this at DYK now to get it into the pipeline. doncram (talk) 20:33, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
