hello! I'm an italian user of the Italian Wikipedia, and I found this article about "Martesana". Yes, "Martesana" is the name of an important "naviglio" (in english: canal) but "La Martesana" (the Martesana) is seen as an important area without any administrative power. In fact in the Italian Wikipedia there are two different articles: Martesana (for the area) and Naviglio Martesana (for the canal).
