Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.

If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)

I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I may use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.

Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs)

Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

  • "can improve with some of his decision making", but that he remained a "key player" who "has a lot of good attributes, but he can get better" - we can probably rewrite these quotes into prose to make them more readable. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:00, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • caused opposition goalscorer James Collins to be sent off after he elbowed Smith during a scuffle on the ground - this makes it sound like he's got the credit for getting the other player sent off. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:00, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yeah, he pinches and does irritating things like that to wind up opposition players, hence the quote of him being "a nightmare and will annoy you for 90 minutes". So really he did cause Collins to lose his temper and get sent off.--EchetusXe 22:48, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi EchetusXe, review follows: article promoted to GA on 31 October; article is well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources (AGF on the football databases which I am not familiar with); I didn't pick up any issues with overly close paraphrasing; hook is interesting, mentioned in the article and number of appearances checks out to source cited, AGF on date of debut as the source linked in the article is broken and also that the unbroken run started with the debut as I don't have the knowhow to verify from the databases; image is authors own and appropriately licensed; a QPQ has been carried out. Looks fine to me - Dumelow (talk) 09:54, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
