Honorary Degree

[edit]

While performing a poetry reading at Delta State University on 10/10/07, Natasha Tretheway was offered an honorary PHD. I believe she will formally receive the degree at the 07 winter graduation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.150.10.97 (talk) 05:10, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Undergraduate degree

[edit]

For some reason her undergraduate degree from U.Ga. is being changed to the B.A. degree. This is incorrect. U.Ga., Harvard, and other universities confer the Latin degree of A.B., artium baccalaureus, viz. this link. I am summarily changing her degree to the correct epithetological form. Cornish heritage?

[edit]

Just wondering - her surname looks typically Cornish (many Cornish names begin with Tre-) - is anything known of her ancestry, through both male and female lines? (I ask as her surname only records the male line). 86.133.54.214 (talk) 21:03, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, don't know specifically, but I think so, possibly. See Cornish American where her and her father are listed. That said, the cites don't specifically say either are of Cornish descent. The only cite given just says that Trethewey is a Cornish name. May be synthesis to infer that, though. Haven't challenged that yet on that page because I wanted to research a little before I do, but that might need to be taken down there as well. If you can find a reliable source that says she is also of Cornish heritage, by all means you can add it. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 23:12, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
