birthplace
[edit]i just heard on (local) radio that she was born in Cuckfield in Sussex. Doesn't seem like the sort of thing they'd make up. I'll start looking, but does anyone have a source for her birth? Amo 14:27, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes,I do,[1], here at IMDb it says she was not born in Cuckfield, but in Haywards Heath.I think IMDb is right they alos never make things up like someone's birth. (71.96.243.187 15:01, 14 February 2007 (UTC)).
I heard she was born in New Zealand. So your both wrong (User:Clashhead (UTC)).
- Definately not true. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 15:44, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Pop 100
[edit]Somebody keeps writing that Natasha is the first UK female singer to achieve pole position on the Pop 100 in over 19 years. This is erroneous. The Pop 100 is a relatively new Billboard chart, so it did not exist in 1987. While it is true that Kim Wilde was the last UK female to reach number one in America, it was NOT on the Pop 100, but on the Hot 100. Then, Natasha is the only female UK singer to reach number one on the Pop 100 since its inception.
This article reads that she got married in march 2009, On the today show on August 21, 2009 she said April 2009.
The One THat Got Away
[edit]Once again someone has changed the chart position for the appearance on the Billboard Dance Club Play chart, it has peaked at number one, not number nine. For instance, I'm Ron Burgandy? Any ways if you have any doubt about this please refer to the billboard website on the following link.
- [2] Billboard Dance Chart
If you look at number eight, the current natasha bedingfield position, then look at peak position, it clearly states number one, don't just rely on the artist area info, check the actual chart as well.
Singles
[edit]It's pretty silly to have more than one entry for the same song... just because it was released in the US a year or two after the initial release doesn't mean it can't have the same chart entry. Opinions? Camcallister 01:30, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Canadian singles data
[edit]There is a discrepancy in the charts, as singles have different Canadian chart placings. Which are correct? And where are the numbers from? SKS2K6 20:22, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
POV
[edit]Phrases about singles "underperforming" or "doing even better than the first" are rather opinionated - if the record company said it, fine, but cite the reference. I do not think I know the topic well enough to edit it, though. WillE 16:45, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Childhood and beginning
[edit]This section was blanked a few times and reverted. However, the person (or persons) who blanked it are apparently from her record label, and have emailed us expressing concern about the accuracy of the page. As such, I have tagged this section with {{unreferenced}}, although more references in general would be good.--§hanel 06:31, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Interesting! Did they specify what part of the section gives them concern? I suppose it is information about her singing and writing for Hillsong Church. I personally own two Hillsong albums with songs sung or co-written by Natasha Bedingfield. I was at the live recording for one of the albums and saw her perform. The fact her record label will not have her Hillsong albums mentioned on her official site and in her official biography does not mean they do not exist and cannot be mentioned in Wikipedia. A simple Google search for "Bedingfield Galanti" gives 461 results with songs co-written by these two people for Hillsong. I have added some links to some relevant sites and removed the "unreferenced" tag.
http://dvasongs.com/?index=albums&object=59 - "You Are My Rock" (Chords and official Russian translation of the lyrics of the song by Natasha Bedingfield and Giovanni Galanti as featured on Hillsong Kiev's album Революция-Revolution))

- They didn't specify what was wrong, although if they don't email back, I would assume they are satisfied.--§hanel 15:16, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
well its unfashionable to be assoiated with religion so thats probably why. Though it didnt exactly hurt U2 now? Anyways tot he person swearing on this keep in mind kids use wikipedia. Just becos ur messed up no need to spread the toxic.
The article several times refers to The DNA Algorithm, the band formed by Daniel, Natasha and Nicola, as "Christian Rock". It was certainly a Christian band (if you define "Christian band" as a band composed of Christians), but in genre terms it wasn't at all rock - it was essentially dance music (see the Cross Rhythms review for more details and audio samples). This really needs changing, but that will break the link to the Christian Rock article on Wikipedia. If a link is necessary, then CCM would be a better target, although that's misleading in a different way as CCM is very much a US phenomenon and the Bedingfields are UK artists as far as their recordings are concerned. I haven't edited the article yet, as I want to get other people's opinions on this, but unless there are any strong objections I'll get rid of the "rock" genre next time I'm here. MarkSG 16:37, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
"Sophomore" album?
[edit]This is American English and not widely understood outside of the US. A lot of British readers would not know what it meant, let alone people whose first language is not English. I suggest changing it to "Second album". Eggybacon 01:54, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
Successful good article nomination
[edit]I am glad to say that this article which was nominated for good article status has succeeded. This is how the article, as of June 13, 2007, compares against the six good article criteria:
- 1. Well written?: Very well written prose with excellent referencing
- 2. Factually accurate?: Wikipedia is as accurate as the editors... but this article appears to be as accurate as possible considering the amount of references for the length of the article
- 3. Broad in coverage?: For an up and coming (well possibly there... I'd call her a tweener) artist it's as thorough as possible.
- 4. Neutral point of view?: Didn't see any... all fairly objective.
- 5. Article stability? There have been several editors... but none vandalizing edits and most have contributed extensively
- 6. Images?: The one image is within regulations
If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it to a GA review. Thank you to all of the editors who worked hard to bring it to this status. — Jazznutuva 09:49, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Matt Robinson Isn't Dead!
[edit]Boyfriend Matt Robinson's name links to a dead gentleman born in the 1930's by the same name -- assuming there's no connection there, it needs to be changed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.140.73.84 (talk) 07:34, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Albums sold
[edit]Bedingfield recorded her first album Unwritten in 2004. The album contained primarily uptempo pop songs and was influenced by R&B music;[1] it enjoyed international success with over 2.3 million copies sold worldwide.
and
Bedingfield has achieved five top ten singles in the United Kingdom and, as of April 2008, she has sold over 2 million albums worldwide.
Is there something wrong with my math, or just any miscalculation at the site? It's fairly impossible to sell less copies of two albums together than of one album (Unspoken). Some additional information would be perfect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Panda Power (talk • contribs) 12:29, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Copyright claim
[edit]There was a claim that this article was a copyright violation of [3]. However, given that page's odd incorporation of phrases that make sense in the Wikipedia context (such as "[unreliable source?]" and "[not in citation given]"), it seems much more likely that the other site is a copyright violation of this page. (The other site does not acknowledge Wikipedia's license as is required under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL.) --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:22, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Non-musical projects
[edit]There's a failed validation "not in citation" claim over the first sentence. i read the cited page, and it seems to be there fine: "...'Global Angels' - a new international children's charity. Founded by Natasha's mother, Molly Bedingfield...". i don't see the problem. Pauladin (talk) 16:31, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Label
[edit]Her infobox says that ceased EMI would be her current label. Did she really ever have a serious connection to them? The only thing I could found, was that song texts like this one are under copyright of EMI, but that doesn't mean anything for the artist. I can't see any relationship, so I'll remove it from the infobox. --SamWinchester000 (talk) 13:38, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

External links modified (January 2018)
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on Natasha Bedingfield. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20080725172029/http://www.askmen.com/women/singer_250/253_natasha_bedingfield.html to http://www.askmen.com/women/singer_250/253_natasha_bedingfield.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, you may follow the instructions on the template below to fix any issues with the URLs.
