Birthplace
[edit]According to IMDb, Natalie Desselle-Reid was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, and as no citation was given for Marksville, Louisiana, I've changed it. Jeodesic 23:35, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- IMDb is not a reliable source (see WP:RSP). The currently cited source is a dead link.[1] A better source is needed. – 108.56.139.120 (talk) 18:24, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
End date for years active
[edit]IMDB says that 2017 was her last acting role. Wikipedia says 2014. Should it be left at 2017, or should it be changed to 2014? MikaelaArsenault (talk) 19:28, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- Not sure about this because I know that she was also meant to be in a 2020 BAPS play that was cancelled because of COVID so I am not sure if that counts as "active" Peacekeepurwar (talk) 19:32, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you. Where did you find out about the 2020 BAPS play that was cancelled because of COVID though? MikaelaArsenault (talk) 19:42, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- This is the main source but wish there were more. https://jecaryous.com/theater/baps/ Peacekeepurwar (talk) 19:48, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will see if I can find more sources. MikaelaArsenault (talk) 15:46, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
Cause of death
[edit]TMZ says the following: "Natalie Desselle-Reid -- a prolific actor known for roles in 'Eve,' a 'Madea' film and 'B*A*P*S' -- has died after a battle with cancer ... one she'd kept private. The veteran comedic actor passed away Monday morning. A family member tells TMZ she died of colon cancer after having been diagnosed earlier this year. We're told she was in hospice care in her final days, and was surrounded by family when she went." Is this a reliable source for a cause of death? MikaelaArsenault (talk) 19:45, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- Others can chime in but I wonder if because the disclaimer is at the top of the page, what TMZ reported can be added for now, and if it turns out to be false, can be deleted. Not sure if this is the preferred way. Peacekeepurwar (talk) 19:49, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- For this particular case, news reports are including the cause of death, so it is fine to add it by citing those. But for future reference, if no reliable source can be cited to verify a claim (especially a BLP claim), then do not include it. It is not appropriate to add unverified claims and depend on others to substantiate them. – 108.56.139.120 (talk) 21:49, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- A lot of sources including CNN, New York Post, New York Daily News, and NBC News are now saying that she died from colon cancer. MikaelaArsenault (talk) 22:32, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
Natalie Desselle-Reid (date she died is wrong)
[edit]Natalie Desselle-Reid‘s date that she died should be February 7, 2022, not December 7. RIP Ms. Natalie, you were a lovely lady 🙏 2603:8080:F140:728:F0B7:E761:117B:BA58 (talk) 00:32, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
