Request for WikiProject India
This article is under copyedit status (I'm working on it presently), and I have some concerns. I have very little knowledge of what this article is about! It needs references and an external link makeover... I can probably fix external links and inter-wiki links at the bottom. But I can't really help you with references, currently labeled in a cheap list of sources used. Thanks. --Belinrahs (talk) 14:08, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- Are nayaks and naidu same? I thoguht they were different. I don't htink it makes sense to merge the two as they both have different cultures. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vellala (talk • contribs) 2008-03-03T19:04:55 (UTC)
- The Nayaks mentions Naidu as being very much related/same. I found it correct to request merge. --Belinrahs (talk) 21:47, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
COI
I have placed COI due to people angry about the reference of the Kamma (and at one point Kapu) castes being the "owners" of this caste. People who I have determined to either belong to these castes or have much knowledge pertaining to this and other castes have said this above (they have said these things under annoymous IP's). Someone that is both an experienced Wikipedia editor and that has verifiable evidence of facts are cordially invited to fix this :) --Belinrahs (talk) 21:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
WHERE IS PAGADALA NARASIMHULU NAIDU'S BALIJAVARI PURANAM AVAILABLE ?
I am delighted that Naidu Family Welfare Association is bringing out Malayalam translation of Pagadala Narasimhulu Naidu's Balijavari Puranam as per Naidu wikipedia. Can some one enlighten us if the original book is in Telugu or English? Who are the publishers ? Where is it available?. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.24.52.9 (talk) 06:55, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Nayak/ Naik different from Naidu
The title Naidu is most prevalent in Andhra Pradesh. There also exists a title called Naik, which is predominantly used by the Lambadis or Lambanis. So, merging would totally alter the relevance and importance of the word - "Naidu." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.227.53.245 (talk) 09:15, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Are Balija's more in Coimbatore ?
I have removed the Balija inserts/claims, that is being projected as a majority community in Coimbatore district.Well,I am no caste fanatic, but since being from that district all I can say is that Balija's are not much in numbers (has very few families in that district),while Kamma's are in significant percentage (~30%).Some user seems to be obsessed with the never dying job of inserting Balijism in all sites related to Telugu people.I am very much sure that that user is not from that district, but is hell bent on inserting the Balijaism into every Telugu portal. Its high time that the administrators should take care of such vandalism and fanatical claims. If that user is sure about what he is upto ,then let him insert proof on such claims.

Coimbatore Naidu's are Kamma Naidu's, Baliga's are not much in that district. There are Balija's in Salem area though. I know because i am a Kamma Naidu from TamilNadu. Having said that , many of the telugu speaking castes like Kamma's, Balija's , Velamas , Gavaras, call themselves Naidu's only in TN , but if you want to know someones actual caste, you will have ask further. Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ckrishnamoorthy (talk • contribs) 2014-04-20T05:30:32 (UTC)
VANDALISM
Valuable and very informative wiki articles are being targeted and ruined by a certain vandal. This vandalizing happened to Naidu,Kapu caste,Madurai Nayaks,Thanjavur Nayaks,Nayaks wikis etc recently . Hope this would not happen again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.180.35.157 (talk) 2009-07-02T15:36:27 (UTC)
This page seems to be hijacked by members of a certain community with anonymous IDs who are hell bent to make Nayaka/Naidu/Naicker as a caste title or worse, the name of a caste just because they are the single largest community using this title. The fact is that Naicker is a honorofic title used by members of many communities including Tamil,Telugu,Kannada and Tribal groups as a legacy of Vijayanagara Period. For example,Tamil speaking Agnikula Kshatriyas frequently use Naicker and Nayakan as titles in Tamil Nadu. Would like to add one more thing:Just because Vijayanagara Kings had martial relations with Nayaks from a particular caste doesn't mean they become a part of that caste. There are enough proofs that Sangama and Saluva dynasties were from the Kuruba Community while Tuluva and Aravidu dynasties were Bunts and Rajus respectively.

Idiotic Balija inserts
Some stupid guy has vandalised the entire article - making only Balija information prominent. This is an encyclopedia and that dumb-head should remember that this is not the place for bombastic Balija claims. However Balijas are what they are - no matter what is written here. This only helpd Balija's -become the butt of joke. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.242.215.219 (talk) 2011-01-29T05:50:23 (UTC)
- With all due respect ( and no offence meant to to any caste), inserting false claims all over internet including Wiki just because some one has an internet connection, is only showing the inferiority complex of that caste ( whether it is Balija or some other caste ). Like it was said above rightly, if you insert stupid and unsubstantiated text, you generally become butt of joke and usually no one will take these guys seriously!. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ckrishnamoorthy (talk • contribs) 2014-04-20T05:33:51 (UTC)
- Some people from Kamma community are vandalising and try to change the history. Kamma caste is infact not even 200 years old. Where as Reddy, Balija (Kapu) are pre-historic.
- Some Kammas are too funny and they try to tag Chowdary as their caste title. Actually Chowdaries are from muslim and north Indian based title. With media power Kammas are trying to change the history highlighting they are savours but that is not correct. Actually a few decades back there were stories saying Kamma caste evolved from Land lord Kapu (Balija) men and village prostitutes of lower caste women. Later Kammas put some hard work and now in a very better status than Kapus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2404:e800:e602:2bf:d0a6:c098:b900:aa0b (talk • contribs) 2016-11-13T14:49:37 (UTC)
Much Cleaner Article Now
At last the "Naidu" wikipage is clean with just the appropriate information. Earlier all Tom, Dick & Harrys were inserting their castes into the Naidu title, especially the Balija fanatic. Hope the administrators help maintain the article , the way it is now. --G27 (talk) 17:30, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
