Disambiguation or other action?

[edit]

While the AFD was closed as a keep, the discussion as to whether this page should be redirected or turned into a disambiguation (probably with the content merged to some other article) was not completed. I am inviting further discussion to continue here, but have no opinion on the matter myself. Sjakkalle (Check!) 12:12, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored the dab page. If the place in Karnataka turns out to be notable, it can have its own article at Nagoor, Udupi, as it's clearly not the primary topic for the term. – Uanfala (talk) 13:08, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Anupam has reverted my restoration of the dab page. I'll assume good faith and take it that they're not just reverting me all over the place for the sport of it, but have an actual reason, which they could now share. – Uanfala (talk) 15:29, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like Nagoor was included in the 2011 Census of India per this article. If that is the case, why should this article be blanked? I look forward to hearing from you. With regards, AnupamTalk 15:31, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a source for that? At Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nagoor this was shown not to be the case. And again – if the place turns out to be notable – either by turning out to be recognised at the next census and thus meeting GEOLAND, or alternatively if there turn out to be sources to pass GNG – then the article should be created at a disambiguated title, not hijacking the existing dab page. If there is any primary topic for the term (which I take not to be the case) it would be the town in Tamil Nadu. – Uanfala (talk) 15:57, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Uanfala; dab page is the right way to go. Nagoor, Udupi was not included in the 2011 census, therefore falling short of WP:GEOLAND. -- Ab207 (talk) 07:34, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
