[edit]Call me old-fashioned, but I think the team owner or crewchief deserves more credit than the sponsor...
On a separate note, in '00, Busch GN set an unenviable record by having the first driver sued by a sponsor (AT&T), essentially for being a lousy driver: Mike Borkowski, who punted off 2 other drivers & was villified by fans, media, & officials. Trekphiler 04:08, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Buschwackers
[edit]This article needs a NPOV makeover, especially in the "Buschwhackers" section. Too much opinion and not enough citations. Crabapplecove 00:01, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Supporting link not specific
[edit]The link given to support the loss of Busch sponsorship [1] is redirected by the destination to their current sports page. Can somebody find a better specific reference, perhaps a press release? --BigMoneyJim 19:22, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
Sports class Series?
[edit]Should we make any mention of them possibly turning the busch series into a sports class seres? Mark4life92 15:07, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Mark4life92
Requested move
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was No consensus to move page at this time, per discussion below. There seems to be significant support for moving the article on January 1, 2008. -GTBacchus(talk) 00:52, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Busch Series → Nationwide Series — The last race of this circuit has been run under the Busch Series name, and thus the name change is now official to Nationwide Series. —AEMoreira042281 (talk) 13:39, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

- Support: Since the season is already over, then obviously we should at least change the article's name to the "Nationwide Series". We should change both the Busch and Nextel Cup logos and articles by Speedweeks. I agree with Sawblade that we should find an administrator to move the article, but not the redirects. If someone searches "Busch Series" they should come up with the Nationwide Series instead.
- Support: No reason why not. This could have been done easily if it weren't for the redirect already in place. --D-Day (talk) 14:33, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Support No reason not to. Someone might just want to find an admin who will delete the redirects per WP:CSD criterion G6. (seen at Template:Db-move) --Michael Greiner 01:38, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Comment about redirect deletion I would not be too hasty about Deleting that Redirect as theres a ton of NASCAR articles that will still be linking to it and the Naming Convention Problems as the reference to Busch Series will still be around for a few more years after the official name change on the January 1st. In fact the Winston Cup redirect still exists becuause of that. Sawblade05 (talk to me | my wiki life) 07:12, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- I strongly oppose deleting the redirects. I frequently create redirects for cases just like this: old names for series need to exist so the less informed can find the real article. They are being used by retired drivers and people searching by the old names. Royalbroil 16:18, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

- Support later: I don't think the name change becomes official until January 1. We should wait, then move it.Mustang6172 (talk) 06:46, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose: I'm with Mustang, the name change isn't even official until 2008, Wikipedia should respect that.KaseyKahneFan (talk) 07:01, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Strong Oppose: Not until 01-01-2008 When the new names become official. Any name changing made here before then is considered Vandalism. Sawblade05 (talk to me | my wiki life) 07:05, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose until 1/1/08. This discussion should really be happening at WikiProject NASCAR since it affects all NASCAR articles. I linked a discussion that I started there to here. If the name officially changes on Jan. 1st then it should first be changed then. I initially wanted to do it now, but this discussion has changed my mind. We should plan how to implement all of these changes now at WikiProject NASCAR, since there are very many articles to change (WT:NASCAR#When_to_change_the_series_titles_from_NEXTEL_to_Sprint_and_Busch_to_Nationwide). Royalbroil 16:18, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose until after all 2007 season banquets and events are held: There are still events, but not races, to be run using the brand, namely Championship Week in New York City, and banquets for all of the series. --AEMoreira042281 (talk) 17:00, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose - Once it is changed over by NASCAR, then it should be moved. The official site still has it as Busch Series.--Kranar drogin (talk) 12:14, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Rain tires & wipers
[edit]There should be something about rain tires and wipers, since the first points race in NASCAR history to use them was just raced at the 2008 NAPA Auto Parts 200 70.51.11.219 (talk) 06:31, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Table Error
[edit]Dale Earnhardt Sr. has 21 carreer Busch Series wins, why is he not listed in the Nationwide series all time wins list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toughguy223 (talk • contribs) 00:03, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Impala?
[edit]Why is the CoT said to be similar to the Impala and not the Camaro? Montblanc2000 (talk) 04:51, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Wins table
[edit]Is there any reliable list of victories in the pre-1982 Modified/Sportman Division...which is the precursor to what we call the Busch/Nationwide Series? It would be interesting to expand the table (adding a column) to reflect those victories as well. Seems NASCAR tries to forget that series existed. Doctorindy (talk) 15:39, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
60 Won 2011 Owners Championship
[edit]I edited the winners' table. It previously read that Stenhouse won and the #6 won the owner's championship. Stenhouse drove the 6. It was the #60, that Edwards mostly drove that won the owners championship. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.80.234.34 (talk) 19:51, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Minor but not, series name
[edit]XFINITY is stylized by all capital letters. This should be reflected in the page, as it's the "official" way to stylize it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seola (talk • contribs) 20:22, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Seola: Per MOS:TM, even if a company officially uses capital letters, we don't; it's like how Speed Energy Formula Off-Road is the page name, rather than SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road. Zappa24Mati 21:55, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
- @ZappaOMati: Per the Wiki standards, XFINITY qualifies because it is always stylized in caps, and because the first letter is pronounced separately from the word itself. Xfinity in stylize has not in prominent use, in fact - Wiki is the only place to stylize it as such. Seola (talk) 17:01, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Seola: And which Wiki standard is it? Looking at Comcast Cable (where Xfinity redirects to), it uses just Xfinity instead of XFINITY, while other articles use both (Xfinity Arena, XFINITY Theatre). But as stated at MOS:TM (which is a guideline provided): "Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official", as long as this is a style already in widespread use, rather than inventing a new one", which is why we use Kiss instead of KISS. NFLisAwesome (ZappaOMati) 18:45, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- Actually, another example that could work (since it's NASCAR-related) is with the Nextel Cup Series. Even though the official name is "NEXTEL Cup Series", we've been using "Nextel". NFLisAwesome (ZappaOMati) 19:03, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Update information to reflect current CoT Xfinity cars and Next Gen cars
[edit]There's a lot of the section about the cars themselves that is about a decade out of date. For example, comparing the Gen 4 Xfinity cars to CoT Cup cars like those are the current cars. 2600:1700:3D90:B8E0:1007:3986:A5A:C75E (talk) 04:19, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
