Requested move 23 October 2021
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Moved to Mystery Girl (The Naked Brothers Band) per nom (although there is no strong consensus about it). Whatever it is, and whichever ruleset applies, the disambiguator by franchise seems reasonable and recognizable. In particular, there are actual films The Mystery Girl and His Mystery Girl. As as separate action, I will retarget Mystery Girl (film) to Mystery Girl (disambiguation). No such user (talk) 12:12, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
Mystery Girl (film) → Mystery Girl (The Naked Brothers Band) – The article is unclear if this is a film or episode as it uses mixed terminology and templates. List of The Naked Brothers Band episodes#Season 3 (2008–09) lists it as an episode as does IMDb. Of the sources used in the article, [1] says it is an episode; [2] shows without content to me but the url link says it is an episode. If the article is indeed an episode then per WP:NCTV it should be disambiguated with the TV series name and after the move should be updated to correct terminology and categories. - Comment: List of The Naked Brothers Band films (which lacks citations entirely) lists this as the fifth film. It states "Often the latter films were either two episodes which aired together or an extended episode (as Nickelodeon usually uses the "movie" definition for hour-long episodes of their series)." Assuming that's accurate, the question is, do we follow Nickelodeon's definition of "movie", or do we say as a matter of common usage this is a double-episode of a TV series? We have similarly Battle of the Bands (film) and Polar Bears (film) and The Premiere (film), which raise the same issue. Inconsistently, we have Sidekicks (The Naked Brothers Band). Ping@Sladen and Fortdj33: as they moved the page back and forth between these titles in Ocotber 2017. I will notify WP:WikiProject Film. Havelock Jones (talk) 11:08, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, this is indeed a mess. I didn't even realize we had List of The Naked Brothers Band films which every item it lists is listed at List of The Naked Brothers Band episodes as an episode (even The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie). Gonnym (talk) 13:25, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- Comment - The article does little to contextualise or establish the notability of its subject, and to someone with no familiarity with its subject it comes across as being very confusing. Is it a film or an episode of a television programme? From what I can gleam it looks like it's probably an extended-length special episode of a television programme. I shall assume good faith on the part of this article's creators and editors, especially given it appears to be a part of a series aimed primarily at children, but I can see the "(film)" disambiguator making the article's subject appear more notable than it actually is.
