pagode

I would like some info on the origins of pagode. I'm assuming it's a variant of samba close to choro (with the cavaquinho and so on). Can you fill in the blanks?

Colonial music

I'd say that there's a difference between Colonial music and African/Slave music. I'd suggest moving Capoeira music and Lundu to a new subheading, such as Slave music. — Asbestos | Talk 12:27, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
