Notability?
[edit]If there is any question about the notability of the murder case, then please someone address the concerns.
Clearly notable, IMO.--Corner benchmark (talk) 12:35, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Individual murders are not always notable per WP:RECENT. Often, they only get covered within the context of a biography, I would consider getting Mohebullah's full name and moving the article to that location, and talk about him more fully, Sadads (talk) 12:45, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
You are generalizing. Please be specific about why you think he may not be notable.
I have added an external link to the article, that points to what President Karzai "thinks" about the murder case.--Corner benchmark (talk) 12:59, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Again I know nothing about this particular case, but it currently reads with little or no context for the reader, so we have no understanding of who Mohebullah was, what his full name was, the context for the muder (what was the situation, etc.) If he is in fact someone of note and/or the military had a particular reason for arresting him, would help alot in this case. Also that a notable individual made a comment on something doesn't make it notable. Significant coverage and extended interest by large groups of press are important for this kinds of notability questions. I am not saying that his death was insignficant, I am just saying that your current article makes no claim to WP:Notability and reads like Recentism because it references a couple of sensationalist news channels used to fill some space (Fox esp.) and gives no context, or claim of wider impact, then his death, Sadads (talk) 13:32, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Also, people get killed all the time, and get covered by news papers, but that doesn't mean that their death is particularly notable, Sadads (talk) 13:36, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Does the first external link contribute to the notability?

Does president Hamid Karzai's "expressed interest" in the case add to the victim's notability?--Corner benchmark (talk) 12:59, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Notable figures expressing interest in something does not mean that the thing itself is notable, Sadads (talk) 13:32, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
