Fair use rationale for Image:Saudi-logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:Saudi-logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:02, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File:Prince Muqrin.jpg Nominated for Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Prince Muqrin.jpg, has been nominated for deletion at Wikimedia Commons in the following category: Media without a source as of 19 September 2011
What should I do?

Don't panic; a discussion will now take place over on Commons about whether to remove the file. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion, although please review Commons guidelines before doing so.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.

What is his actual birthday? In the lead, it says (1943- ) and below it says born in 1945 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.58.73.254 (talk) 20:54, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple citations are lacking

[edit]
  • Note There are multiple claims in the article that are not backed up by ANY sources, much less reliable ones. I have tagged the article as its lacks sources, and also does not cite sources but titles in many references. Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 22:45, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Religion

[edit]

OluwaCurtis, do you want to say that I vandalized Wikipedia because I changed the religion of the former Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Muqrin bin Abdulaziz from Islam to Sunni Islam???

May I ask you: "What do you think which branch of Islam the members of the royal family of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia follow?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.228.137.169 (talk) 13:30, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'll add up to the question. --Yomal Sidoroff-Biarmskii (talk) 05:36, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 29 January 2021

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Moved back to Muqrin bin Abdulaziz. That's the long-term stable title, and there's no consensus evident in this discussion for anything different. The bold move should have been reverted long ago, in fact, per WP:RMUM without further discussion necessary. If someone wants to propose a new name, they can do so from the long-term stable title.  — Amakuru (talk) 15:44, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince of Saudi ArabiaMuqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – He was only briefly and is no longer Crown Prince, so this doesn't seem like his Wikipedia:COMMONNAME. 73.110.217.186 (talk) 03:53, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Relisting. User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 19:21, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Restore original article title before all the move-warring: concise, natural and unambiguous Muqrin bin Abdulaziz. DrKay (talk) 16:05, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Restore the original title, Muqrin bin Abdulaziz. The page was moved without a discussion in the first place. This individual resigned from office and is no longer the crown prince. Keivan.fTalk 22:04, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Keivan.f:, there is an old discussion about these people and it was decided that the title of the articles should contain family name to avoid confusion, please restore Muhammed bin Nayef adding Al Saud and this article should be moved with the family name. Thanks in advance, --Egeymi (talk) 09:09, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Egeymi: As I pointed out on my talk page, I simply reverted an undiscussed move on Muhammad bin Nayef's page. Here we are trying to do the same. If you believe the family name should be included in the title, you can simply wait for the conclusion of this discussion and put forward your argument in a fresh request that includes both pages. That way, the community can decide if the previous discussion is still valid or not. As a matter of fact, everyone has been voting 'against' the inclusion of Al Saud family name on Mohammed bin Salman's page. That shows that the old discussion does not necessarily hold true for every page on Saudi royals. Keivan.fTalk 10:03, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Keivan.f:, thanks for the reply. The case you mentioned about MBS is different from this one. I just try to support standardization that's why I mentioned recent discussions, Thanks anyway, best Egeymi (talk) 10:43, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ceyockey: Hi. You relisted this RM on February 13. There appears to be consensus for the article to be restored to its previous title Muqrin bin Abdulaziz before the move-warring and the discussion seems to be over with no new comments added in the past 10 days. Can the RM be closed now and the article moved back to its original title? Keivan.fTalk 06:45, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Muqrin bin AbdulazizMuqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – Saudi royals are usually referred to with the surname Al Saud. The exception is the kings, who are known as X of Saudi Arabia. Muqrin bin AbdulazizMuqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – He was only Crown Prince for a brief time, so I'm not sure he should be qualified without the surname unlike some of his brothers and their children. Support the move to Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The other article titles mentioned above are all incorrect, and their title, Crown prince, is not relevant in this regard. Their surname, Al Saud, should be given. Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport cannot be used as a basis here.--Egeymi (talk) 17:11, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are more than welcome to open a discussion that covers all the pages on Saudi crown princes, but we cannot single out one page and keep the other ones under another format. It just results in creating a bigger mess the like of which I'm dealing with now at Talk:Luluwah bint Abdulaziz. Keivan.fTalk 18:09, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for confusion, I'm referring to all pages from Al Saud family. All should be renamed as X bin/bint X Al Saud. In fact, once upon a time all pages were titled like that. Later these "nonsense" moves occurred without any reason. Nevermind. Hope now I could tell my intention, Egeymi (talk) 18:41, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
