Thank you very much. I am new to wikipedia and you can easily understand i'm not fluent with all the tools as yet. The reason you're coming up blank on google is because the artist in question is relatively new and in addition is an army officer; in pakistan, army personnel have to take permission before going the media route. Rest assured very soon i'll come up with authentic material regarding your query. And thank you once again. KJ789 15:29, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem at all, happy to help. Even if it's a citation that isn't online, you can add it to the article using the ref tags. That will place it as a footnote. If I find anything, I'll add it as well. Once we have some sources, I might actually be able to contribute more than links and formatting. Again, You've got a good start. Also, you can use four tildes (~~~~) to sign posts on talk pages; this adds your name and the time and date automatically. Best, ZZ Claims ~ Evidence 15:48, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thank you once again and i'll wait for your additions. KJ789 16:09, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About the only source I can find is this one, listing a Colonel Muhammad Qasim as a recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Pakistan's third highest honor. Given how few references I'm finding that match that name, and the fact that the ranks match, I believe it may be a reference to this article's Muhammad Qasim (though the Malik is missing). I'm still coming up short on sources, though. ZZ Claims ~ Evidence 04:56, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That Corresponds

[edit]

ok 1st of all let me come clean on this...the person or rather the calligrapher in question is my father and yes he has been awarded a sitara-e-imtiaz which is a very high military honour. The Malik would be missing because officially he does not have a surname, and i'm working on his website. Very soon i'll be giving you the link. So i think think that should clear up a lot of things...i certainly hope so. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. KJ789 (talk) 11:43, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, that does clear up quite a few things. The article seemed like it was written by someone who knows the subject well, as you obviously do. We can't use the website for a source, but, if you have newspaper clippings or other materials about him, we can cite them even if they are not online. There were some quotes in the article that could use a source as well. There are templates for this, and I'd be happy to put them together for you if you let me know where they're from. The key is that the article has to be written from a neutral point of view, so I will probably go through and simplify some of the passages to be more neutral. We can't really use you as a source either, more's the pity - but, as I said, any other independent sources you have can be cited. Best, ZZ Claims ~ Evidence 03:45, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
