Picture request
[edit]I believe the Mr. Peabody sequence opened with a parade of historical figures, followed by a janitor with a broom and a dustbin on wheels. If possible, I would like to find a picture of that parade, with the janitor included. Thanks. Ron
- There were two or three opening sequences, which regularly rotated... AnonMoos 14:19, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
Feature Films
[edit]I have removed the statement "So far, the only Jay Ward cartoon that has not been made into a feature film." Not only is it unreferenced, but I'm not sure it's even true. For example, has there been a Crusader Rabbit film? Ardric47 23:26, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
The biography for Mr. Peabody that is cited in this article seems to be from the new movie, not the original cartoon. Should this be removed? 24.244.29.140 (talk) 21:47, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Peabody sherman.jpg
[edit]Image:Peabody sherman.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"Memorable lines" section
[edit]This is unencyclopedic and while probably aiming to provide an example of the gags used in the show, is way too long and probably doesn't fall under Fair Use. The section should probably be removed or cut down to a much smaller size, anyone up for this? Dandaman32 (talk) 00:24, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Peabodyandshermansimpsons.png
[edit]The image Image:Peabodyandshermansimpsons.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Other appearances?
[edit]Should his appearance in Treehouse of Horror V#Time and Punishment be mentioned?--T. Anthony (talk) 15:30, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Should this link here made me all weird? Or are they an animated duo that appears next to Homer? Or Should they appear out of nowhere!? --Does it look like rocks to you!? 07:55, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
I don't know if this is appropriate since it is not an appearance but a reference, but Peabody and Sherman are mentioned in combination with the Wayback Machine (and Internet Wayback Machine) in the Law and Order SVU episode "Sugar" (Season 11 Episode 2).
Wet blanket
[edit]Perhaps some of the recent edits are "non-encyclopedic" injections of humor into the article? I would have just reverted them all, but I am not totally without a sense of humor. I'll wait to see what others' opinions are before proceeding. TomS TDotO (talk) 10:22, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
I agree. The tone certainly seems improper for an encylopedic reference and it frequently disrupts the information with colloquial and first-person references. 75.172.155.175 (talk) 18:07, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Any information on the origin of the names Peabody and Sherman?
Both are associated with the city of New Haven, Connecticut. Jay Ward attended Harvard. The Peabody Museum of Natural History is part of Yale University. Roger Sherman of New Haven was one of the signers of the Constitution and author of the "Connecticut Compromise" 22yearswothanks (talk) 16:12, 8 June 2009 (UTC) |
