Editing Statement

[edit]

Over the next few weeks, I plan to make a number of changes to improve the quality of this article. Firstly, I plan to divide the overview section, which I find to be slightly vague, into at least two distinct parts. One section will be titled Geological history, and it will focus largely on improving the existing information about jadeite, which is unsourced and can be improved in terms of its clarity. The other section will be titled Indigenous history, and it will focus largely on improving the existing information about the Mayans, which is also unsourced and can be improved in terms of its clarity. Additionally, by adding both sections, I seek to improve the balance of the article, which currently directs most of its attention to the "World's most polluted river" section. Secondly, I plan to change the name of the aforementioned "World's most polluted river" section into a more neutral "Pollution crisis" section. I will also continue to add reputably sourced information to improve clarity, especially because the section describes a more recent and ongoing issue. I also plan to incorporate a Course section, which is common in other Wikipedia articles about rivers. Finally, I plan to restructure the Tributaries section, which I find to be slightly vague with its Left and Right terminology, as well as make some grammatical and sentence structure changes across all of the sections so that it is easier for the reader to understand, as some of the phrasing is slightly confusing or repetitive. Please see my annotated bibliography sandbox linked here for further clarifications: [1] . Thanks, Spcml12 (talk) 20:16, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
