Possible addition to the 'Film' subject + addition of a Theatre subject

[edit]

I was wondering, would it be possible to add that the film 'The Prince of Egypt' depicts Moses and the Egyptian Pharaoh as Rameses? It's just so as to make clear that the film is merely an adaptation with artistic license. Also, a musical theatre adaptation of 'The Prince of Egypt' was released in London in 2020, on the West End. Could someone add in that subject, to contribute to the depictions of Moses in popular culture? Thanks! Two Red Engines

The Etymology

[edit]

While the Wikipedia page gives the Egyptian version of Yehuda's etymology as "mw-zꜣ", this is actually a neat piece of original scholarship. Yehuda and Ulmer (the source) actually propose "mw-š". This section should be revised beyond this issue, but nevertheless it is inappropriate to allow such a misattribution to stand.

Who wrote the 10 commandments?

[edit]

Under BIBLICAL NARRATIVE, 3RD PARAGRAPH is written "Moses, out of anger, broke the tablets, and later ordered the elimination of those who had worshiped the golden statue, which was melted down and fed to the idolaters. He also wrote the ten commandments on a new set of tablets. He (Moses) did NOT write the 10 commandments. Moses went back up the mountain a second time to have a talk with God, explaining how once again his anger got the best of him and asking GOD to write another set of tablets. I can't imagine how that conversation went. God wrote the second set with his finger says the Bible, not MOSES. Bible Quiz and Facts (talk) 01:35, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What are the Ten Commandments 105.113.78.68 (talk) 21:51, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We have an article on the Ten Commandments. There are many variations, but here is a common version...
You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall make no idols.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
Keep the Sabbath day holy.
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet.
