What date?

[edit]

Could someone please provide confirmation that there is a date scheduled, or for that matter that the sponsor will actually hold a "Miss World 2023" event? I see a bunch of national concessions held competitions for Miss World 2022, but that does not help. Without the evidence, the article may be WP:TOOSOON. One other editor has already expressed an opinion at VPM that the article is TOOSOON and should be draftified. ☆ Bri (talk) 15:13, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Which is strange that Miss World 2021 happens but skipped to Miss World 2023, plus I saw the post at Facebook that Miss World 2022 will be announced the venue this week or something and date was by May or something while Miss World 2023 will be on December later this year but FB is not a reliable source so idk where to find a source. Hello! I just found some reliable info on the date of Miss World 2023. South Africa today just had a change in franchise, and this came out from a very reliable South African pageant site: https://www.instagram.com/p/CsEH_A7MuHY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I very much believe this source because they're very close to South African pageant orgs OXXX palomablanca (talk) 14:27, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Adhesivecobra17: Maybe you could join in here. We need a reliable source giving a date. Suggesting in an edit summary that a past contestant said it somewhere is not sufficient. ☆ Bri (talk) 02:07, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I saw a post from facebook just last week. But I didn't took the link of the said post Adhesivecobra17 (talk) 02:14, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have added a reliable source for May 2023, so this can effectively be considered resolved. ☆ Bri (talk) 17:42, 6 February 2023 (UTC

New miss peru is lucia arellano

Instagram account used as source for Morocco

[edit]

The Instagram account used to cite Morocco was created yesterday and has 3 posts. I doubt it authentically represents "Miss Morocco" organization. Therefore it is not allowed under the WP:ABOUTSELF exception to the usual bar on self-published sources. ☆ Bri (talk) 23:14, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Miss World 2023 date is confirmed on December. Just the date is missing

[edit]

So the new Miss World South Africa says Dec 9: https://www.instagram.com/p/CsEH_A7MuHY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== And Miss Brasil CNB says Dec 14. Miss World better announce the final date so contestants can get their visas in time OXXX palomablanca (talk) 11:44, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Format of the lede

[edit]

Good day! I just wanted to ask for a consensus if this statement "This is the second time the Miss World pageant to held in India." is to be added at the lede of this article? User @Joseatienza has been adding it for months and it was always being reverted back. My argument as to why I always remove this is because it is unsourced, unreferenced, and it is also grammatically incorrect (though I do not know if that third reason is a good reason). I wish to have a proper discussion on this page so that we could avoid being blocked due to an edit war. Thank you! Allyriana000 (talk) 21:28, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Miss World 2024 with...
Qatar 110.93.84.200 (talk) 10:25, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Unsourced, grammatically incorrect, and trivial information like this is not even necessary for the lede. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 12:04, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Rumors" of a postponement

[edit]

I don't think "rumors" should be part of an encyclopedia article like this change re-introduced. Yes, there's a citation, but it's still framed as a possibility and even the [reliable] source didn't state that it was a fact. ☆ Bri (talk) 16:27, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. RudolfRed (talk) 00:20, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Best Designer Dress Award references

[edit]

Hello editors concerned, the references for the Best Designer Dress Award are primary references and are therefore, unreliable. I have collated some references for that section that you could use:[1][2] Allyriana000 (talk) 17:13, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2nd Runner Up.

[edit]

Trinidad and Tobago was officially declared the 2nd Runner Up of Miss World 2023 by the official Miss World website and therefore the article should reflect that much. This was recently edited out for no reason. Dentos1998 (talk) 12:56, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
