Shortly after Raiola's death began being suggested on social media, senior figures in the football social media mainstream such as Fabrizio Romano and Tariq Panja took to Twitter to refute the news.

Dr. Alberto Zangrillo of San Raffaele Hospital, Milan where Raiola is currently treated was quoted as saying: “I’m outraged by the phone calls from pseudo-journalists speculating on the life of a man who is fighting to survive." Paulgargan (talk) 12:37, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
