Demolition

[edit]

Regarding this edit: The reference (which contains the quote) specifically reads "demolition". Why has this been reverted?--217.155.32.221 (talk) 10:28, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also: the alteration of the indefinite article was unnecessary – see English articles#Distinction between a and an.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 10:35, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Because the reference to 'demolition' in the Guardian article is vague and does not fully explain that the proposal does not involve the demolition of the Millbank Tower, which would be understood to involve the complete tearing down of the entire thing. My understanding of it is that there would be demolition of some, mainly exterior, elements, and that these elements would be replaced by new materials/structures largely imitating what was there before. The wording of your edit is simply not accurate. I understand that you may wish to use the word 'demolish' rather than 'redevelop', perhaps because you don't approve of the proposal for political reasons, but the wording needs to explain clearly that this is only partial demolition, with most of the basic structure retained, and new elements being designed to imitate the appearance of what was there before.
Regarding changing 'an' to 'a', I tend to think 'an hotel' sounds a bit antiquated. But if you particularly want it to say 'an hotel', feel free to change it back. Dubmill (talk) 10:50, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see that you are largely correct. The developers are now proposing Reduction in the Scope of Demolition. As it contradicts the existing reference, perhaps this one should go in.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 11:13, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. That reference is better in explaining what is actually proposed. Dubmill (talk) 11:22, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK, done.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 14:32, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How many floors does Millbank Tower have???

[edit]

This is a strange Wikipedia article about Millbank Tower - nowhere in the article does it note how many floors the building has. I wonder how many floors it has. Betathetapi454 (talk) 16:04, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
