Staff Sergeant
[edit]- The article says he reached the rank of sergeant, and indeed there is a famous photo of him pointing to his stripes. But are we sure this is as far as he went? The video of "It's Now or Never" on YouTube appears to show him as a staff sergeant (or equivalent - I don't profess to any expert knowledge of US NCO ranks). Perhaps it was an honorary promotion which he was given after finishing his service.Paulturtle (talk) 22:44, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
According to a blog, this footage comes from his trip home by train (laid on by Colonel Parker) from Washington DC to Memphis. A blue dress uniform was provided for him, and they may have made a mistake with the rank. Happy to be corrected if anyone knows more.Paulturtle (talk) 00:31, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- I had only ever read about Elvis being in the 2nd armored division - never the third; after I've quickly gone through Google Image search, I found out there are pictures of Elvis in uniforms of both divisions. This article needs to clarify it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:C88:4000:A009:7549:9B88:5B58:F4B9 (talk) 11:19, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
Unclear section in "Draft"
[edit]- In the summer of 1956, Parker wrote to the Pentagon requesting that Presley be considered for Special Services ... However, Parker had no intentions of allowing his client to ever sign up for Special Services
then why did Parker make the request in the first place?

Elvis' Army rank
I have seen an film clip of Elvis in uniform in a railway station after returning to the U.S. from Germany, and he's wearing a staff sergeant's insignia on his arm i.e. three chevrons and a rocker. Why then is his army rank not given as "staff sergeant"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.61.72.209 (talk) 13:02, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
Elvis meets Priscilla (Who is Bob?)
[edit]Elvis meets Priscilla
On September 13, airman Currie Grant, who had met Presley a couple of months earlier, introduced him to 14-year-old Priscilla Beaulieu during a party at Bob's home.
Who is Bob? I can't see any reference to Bob on this page, also cannot see anybody in Priscilla's family called Bob, On Priscilla's Wiki entry it states they met at Elvis's house in Germany. Anyone have a copy of the book Elvis Day by Day. 1999. pp. 132–140 to confirm if this info is correct and who "Bob" is?
