Contesting speedy delete
[edit]Check the references. Mike Moya is notable. Godspeed You! Black Emperor is one of the more critically acclaimed ensembles of their time, and Moya was a founding member. He's a key player in the Montreal music scene. To the misguided editor who nominated this for speedy deletion: I'm sorry I called you a doofus in my edit summary, but do you really feel I haven't asserted Moya's notability? I think you need to read new articles more carefully and check the contributions of the editors who create them before you hastily tag them for speedy deletion.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 17:05, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, this is sourced and Moya is involved in two note-worthy bands who have their own WP articles, along with the main GSYBE article. Lugnuts 17:12, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- ... but notability is not transitive. I still feel this is deletion fodder, but I expect that between the two of you you'll manage to source and establish notability (which the original article did not do). — Coren (talk) 17:20, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Doofus, familiarize yourself with WP:BAND. See Criteria for musicians and ensembles, item number 5. Moya is the leader of the band Hrsta, which has released more than one album on Constellation Records [1]. Do you contend that Constellation is not "one of the one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)"? I have added a link to the cstrecords.com Hrsta page so readers can see that Moya's band is affiliated with a notable label. I expect you to remove this article from consideration for speedy deletion immediately and would humbly suggest that your admirable deletionist energy be redirected toward obvious vanity articles and kids' plugging their Myspace accounts.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 17:44, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Why are the Molasses albums suddenly redirected here? No WP:AFD, but just removing the content. - FakirNL (talk) 19:35, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
