new bass
[edit]I'm not a musician, but can someone edit the current gear section? Not sure what to put. New bass. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CrG3rblMBwu/?img_index=1 Timan123 (talk) 20:18, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
Terms
[edit]I feel this article uses peacock terms. Statements are made that are not sourced- mostly because they are opinions. It reads like a flattering biography and not a factual article. Btrb ver2 (talk) 03:37, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]That picture isn't very good, you can't even see his face. Surely there's a better free picture available? Timan123 17:24, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Song writing credits
[edit]Why were these removed?? Interesting info, factual not POV, sourced to TPC2, relevant and well-placed? Removal was unsigned and without explanation; I'm reversing it. Airumel 23:42, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
This should not be deleted regardless of the out come legally.
Child Endangerment Charge/Clearing
[edit]just wondering why the references to his arrest for child endangerment are constantly removed? not trying to push an agenda or anything, just trying to maintain a holistic and complete record as is the mission statement of the wikipedia.
--Frenkmelk 04:22, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've added info about the event on this page before, complete with quotes, links and the joint-statement which was released by Gordon and the girl's parents, but someone removed it. I think a Phish fan doesn't want this to be included on the page. I'm a fan of Mike's, but this did happen and it did make news. I don't believe Mike was doing anything inappropriate the night in question and the girl's parents acknowledged it was a misunderstanding (and they didn't press any charges), so I don't think it would be wrong if information about the incident was included. But it also shouldn't be the longest paragraph in the article.
- What bio would be complete without detailing his arrest on child endangerment charges after being found with a 9 year old in a secluded area behind Jones Beach Ampitheater?
- I reattached the section deleted by User talk:68.112.26.95. The section is way too long for something that boiled down to a misunderstanding, per both sides of the incident, and needs to be edited down and still included. BabuBhatt 21:31, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- I edited dow nthe section to relevant details, the rest can be found at the referenced link. BabuBhatt 22:24, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

- I think I'm going to slightly change the wording on the arrest section, as I think a main point is that nothing came out of it. As it stands, the article strongly implies Gordon was doing something innapropriate and says to click a link for the full story (which gives the full breadth of the story). The "I am not a pedophile" quote, while true, seems sensationalistic. What about these quotes from the linked article:
"When responding to a request for an interview, Phish's manager e-mailed a joint statement from Gordon and the child's parents that reads: 'It is now clear to all involved that this was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and we look forward to putting this matter behind us.' Later, in a conference call, the manager said Gordon's trying to 'make amends' with the family. The girl's father added that 'muckraking journalists should put the story to rest.'
I agree, the incident should be portrayed for what it was: a misunderstanding. BabuBhatt 21:25, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
What kind of "misunderstanding" involves a grown man taking a young child off for some privacy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.97.183.31 (talk) 19:59, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Does anyone have a source for the result of the investigation? The link provided says the police would pursue it. Also, I didn't realize the Hell's Angels dispensed some rough justice on Cactus. BabuBhatt 00:04, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
I added this, I see no reason why it should not be included. It is significant, well-sourced (the links are from forums because the articles may not be available elsewhere), and relevant. The previous discussion on this issue was unresolved because the matter was not settled.
On August 11, 2003, Gordon was arrested following a performance by The Dead[1] and charged with child endangerment when he was found taking pictures of a nine-year-old girl. [2] A month later, Gordon was officially cleared of any wrongdoing.[3] 19:02, 16 June 2012 (UTC) Bangabandhu (talk) 19:03, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Its WP:UNDUE and has been discussed previously and rejected at the WP:BLPN - and rejected - those forum links are big no nose - and can not be added at all - I suggest if you still desre to add the content that you ask users at the BLP noticeboard - thanks - Youreallycan 19:07, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Constant blanking of Mike's arrest
[edit]I am unsure of the goal of constantly blanking Mike's arrest, which has references. The section is continually reverted. It states that it was a misunderstanding. Mike is not painted in a bad light. One IP address from Bellows Falls, VT 05101 is a common blanker. Perhaps this is a friend or just a maniacal fan of Mike's? Editors concerned with things like facts, objectivity and free knowledge would be wise to add this page to the watchlist and revert the blanking. BabuBhatt 20:09, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Format
[edit]Can someone who knows how to do such things fix up the formatting in the film section? Maybe have the images on the right side of the page and the content placed to the left of the corrosponding image. [edit]Image:B000087F60.01.LZZZZZZZoutside.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Mike Gordon Arrested
[edit]There are multiple sources confirming this. I altered the section so it only covers what the sources say and updated the link but it needs to stay. XantheTerra (talk) 01:35, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- Just because something is sourced that does not mean it must be in the article. An arrest and subsequent clearing of any wrong doing does not belong in the article. GB fan 03:36, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
Incorrect. The precedent is clear that celebrity arrests are relevant and the whole "this was already discussed" argument is unsubstantiated.
