Honours confusion
There seems to be some confusion over the honor that he was awarded. Some reports are for a KBE, eg:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article3105760.ece
While others picked up on the fact that he was awarded a Knight Bachelor, which is not the equivalent to a KBE. --138.37.81.69 (talk) 10:59, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Jade Goody
His comments about her in this week's Radio Times interview have been repeated by many media sources, gaining considerable attention and controversy. This article should mention it. Nietzsche 2 (talk) 22:05, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- They are included in the 'Writing' section. Chris 42 (talk) 22:18, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Parky
Parky also means (UK) cold. Trying to decide whether there should be a disambig on the alt target. --AlisonW (talk) 11:01, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Published books
The article lacks a list of published books - I have two books by Parky (Cricket Mad and Football Daft) and I've seen another about cricket, so he's written at least four books. I'll try and add a list - unless someone else wants to. Apepper (talk) 15:02, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
In Popular Culture
After the first paragraph, there is a lot in this section which does not match the section heading. I propose to move this material out and put it under headings if no-one disagrees. FlatOut 09:46, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Alcoholism
Didn't Parkinson speak extensively about his alcoholism and the impact it had on his family? I might see if I can find some references on that part of his life FlatOut 09:46, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Chat show
Parkinson the chat show ran on the BBC from 71 to 82. Then for 16 years the Parkinson show was off our screens. It came back to the BBC in 98 ran until 04 when he got a better offer from ITV where it is now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.137.227.238 (talk) 11:06, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- What I can't understand is why so little of the article is devoted to the eponymous chat show. It would be like having one sentence about "The Tonight Show" In Johnny Carson's article. I realize there is a separate article about Parkinson's talk show. But one sentence??? Come on.User:JCHeverly 17:06, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
- No mention either about his Australian chat show series on ATV-10 during the early 1980's, or his interview of and by David Frost live at the Sydney Opera House in 2011, which was also broadcast on ABC-TV.The Dart (talk) 16:37, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
Prostate Cancer
There's no mention of his prostate cancer. He's now involved with prostate cancer charities, so the article should mention his diagnosis, treatment, and subsequent work with the disease. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.187.1.83 (talk) 07:31, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
