Keep. This article was put up for deletion by a single user (in good faith) who is blanket proposing that mayors of somewhat minor cities and towns be deleted. While the precident seems established that a mayor of a non nationally-known city is not neccessarily notable, Lawrence is also not exactly a backwater. This article says more about him than just "He's the mayor of a mid-sized city in a state full of mid-sized cities", but I will agree that it doesn't say a lot either. I'm sure there's also not that much to say. But frankly, I don't see the harm in leaving this article, as since Wikipedia is not paper (find that policy), we can have shorter articles on less important people. There are only so many mayors in this world, and Lawrence is a city of approximately 80,000 people, known for its place in history and its current problems with poverty and employment. I think we can find far less notable people to delete articles on. CSZero (talk) 20:08, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Scratch that, see below. CSZero (talk) 20:39, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Scratch that. This article hasn't grown at all, and it's confusing because there are two mayors of 3rd-tier cities with the same name in the same state. I think this article may be doing more harm than good at this point, so I'm tagging it for notability, and hence, arguing with my former self :-). Comments? Mayors Against Illegal Guns?

[edit]

Now that I look a bit closer, I see a issues with this article:

1. Mayors Against Illegal Guns mayor Michael J Sullivan is mayor of Holyoke, MA. Going to both city's web pages, the mayor has the same name in both, and they look similar. However, I now believe this article is factually incorrect and the mayor of Holyoke is actually on the commission.

2. The campaign page is down, as is the Boston Herald page.

In other words, I have less problem with deleting this article than I did a while ago.
