Some references

For the wristband section: [1], [2] (I fully appreciate the irony of a Daily Mail article being here), [3]. Samwalton9 (talk)

I've added these in and written that section now. Just out of interest, why do you write your references on separate lines? Samwalton9 (talk) 12:56, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for the help with the article. Especially the rewording, I hadn't really addressed some of the copy. It isn't my strong point. I write my references out on separate lines to make them easy to find and edit. When I finish up I put them in line.MrBill3 (talk) 14:25, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Not a problem! I see, it is quite helpful to be fair. Samwalton9 (talk) 15:38, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
As you can see, I am a bit of a reference nut. When I use WP for research, I go straight to the references section and usually just scan the article. I read the source material. I set the references section to two columns instead of three, I think it is more readable that way. I also tweaked the references you provided (as I said I am a nut).MrBill3 (talk) 15:59, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Fully understandable, that's fine! Samwalton9 (talk) 16:07, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Images

I feel like we're coming to the end of the available references for this article, and was thinking we should look at finding some images to include when the article goes 'live'. I don't know if you already had some lined up, but something like this in the homeopathy section might be good, or one of the two here for the psychic section. Let me know what you think. Samwalton9 (talk) 11:57, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

Those images look good but we need to get them uploaded to the wikimedia commons. WP has pretty strict policies on images, they have to be under the proper license. I noticed that the flicker stream images are copyrighted, perhaps we can request they upload some to the commons. MrBill3 (talk) 06:12, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
Agreed. I'm not too knowledgeable on the procedure for requesting images be uploaded to commons, will it be as simple as emailing the owner of the pictures and requesting they upload them themselves or do we need to do it? Samwalton9 (talk) 10:32, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks to Samwalton9's suggestion I approached a photographer and they were so gracious as to license their images on Flickr as CC-BY-SA. A whole host of photo's of MSS events featuring many notable skeptics is available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/92079123@N07/with/8905360369/. A good number of images have been uploaded to the commons also.MrBill3 (talk) 21:03, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Comment

Hope this comment in in the right place, I noticed the original page has their logo on it. Is it out of date or should it be on this new one too? Joolzzt (talk) 22:11, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

The Comment is in exactly the right place. I can't use the logo on my sandbox. When I transfer the rewrite to the article I will be able to put the back in. WP rules about use of non free images. Someone actually removed it from this work in progress. Your section header could have provided more specific info, BTW. Thanks for looking in and checking on the progress on the article.MrBill3 (talk) 06:30, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

QED Ockhams

Okhams 2013: winners quotes. Following the second Ockhams awards presentations at QED 2013, the winners of each category provided the feedback below.

Best video Shut Up Infinity Thanks to everyone who helped us bring this revolutionary new product to the market. We'll have more science-comedy out at http://shutupinfinity.com in the near-future!

Best blog Andy Lewis, Quackometer I am astonished to have won this award, especially given the strength of skeptical blogging at the moment and excellent nominees for an Ockham. So thanks to all those who have supported my blog, nominated me and contributed to it. Importantly, I would like to thank all those people who have been working so hard on libel reform. Skeptical blogging is an irrational activity given the risk impact of potential libel threats. Let's hope the new reform bill can be pushed over the line to protect bloggers from those vested interests who want us silenced.

Best podcast Kylie Sturgess, Token Skeptic I'm thrilled that the Token Skeptic podcast was the winner of the podcast section - big thank yous to the The Skeptic, The Ockhams Awards Committee and QEDCon, who considered the Token Skeptic worthy of being considered with the other awesome shows in the running for this prize. You can check out the show at www.tokenskeptic.org, where episodes have recently featured Dr Ben Goldacre, musician Shelley Segal and blogging finalist Sharon "Doubtful News" Hill. The CSICOP website features transcripts of the show and the Token Skeptic book The Scope Of Skepticism can also be found on the official website

Best event/campaign Edinburgh Skeptics Society, Skeptics on the Fringe Edinburgh Skeptics would like to thank the Humanist Society of Scotland for their sponsorship, all the speakers who gave up their time to appear and everyone who volunteered and helped Skeptics on the Fringe 2013 happen. The 2012 committee comprised Ben Makin, Stephen Makin, Alison Metcalfe, Ewan Leeming, Terry Rodgers. Lynsey Gray, Jo Hockey Ash Pryce and Keir Liddle. The volunteers working behind the scenes were Dawn Gyles, Sheridan Woodward, Ben Turner, Andy Diack, Greg Leman and Richard Rogan, without whom it would probably have not been possible! Skeptics on the Fringe will return this August in Edinburgh from the 2nd until the 26th of August check www.edinburghskeptics.co.uk for more updates and @edskeptics on twitter.

Editor's choice The Pod Delusion We're extremely honoured to accept this award. Thanks to Deborah for choosing us! The real thanks too must go to our contributors. The Pod Delusion wouldn't be where it is today without the over 100 volunteers who submit their thoughts, interviews and features every week. The huge diversity of knowledge and interest enables us to create such an eclectic and engaging show. We'd like to thank them for their continued support as we certainly couldn't have done it without them... and indeed encourage anyone reading who'd like to get involved to drop us a line, as we're always looking for new voices.

Publish?

I think we might be at about the limit for what reliable sources have published about the MSS, and seeing as the article hasn't been edited all that much in a while, I think it might be time to maybe get a few editors opinions on the article and then go ahead and copy it to the full article. What do you think? Samwalton9 (talk) 14:23, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

I wanted to flesh out the QED sections just a little. Sorry I haven't been working on it for a while, been kinda busy with some other articles. I will try and finish up the QED sections in the next few days. Thanks for all your help. - - MrBill3 (talk) 17:55, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
I have put a notice on the talk page for the article. I am ready to publish this. I will try to add some of the QED stuff while waiting for comments. - - MrBill3 (talk) 23:10, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
I'd agree as good to go. Samwalton9 (talk) 08:10, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
