Is this article needed?
[edit]It seems a little odd to me to have an article about the Merrion Gates.
I know that it has occasionally been in the news. Such as when there a truck that was too high crashed into the over-head cables on the last day of 2009, see: this article.
But is it important enough of a land-mark to be included in wikipedia?
I'd vote no.
My suggestion would be to include the information on merrion gates in an already existing article about the area.

- I belive it warrants it's own article. There is no harm. It is significant for many reasons as the level crossing is at a key junction for traffic and trains. Probably the most significant crossing point of traffic over the train tracks on the train route. Also, that it was a station on the Dublin to Kingstown railway. There is a chance that this station will be brought back to service given the recent developments in the area. --DubhEire (talk) 17:02, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
