Melior as bishop of Massa Marittima
[edit]According to Lüpke: Die Zeugen in den Urkunden Heinrichs VI. Hausarbeit für die Staatsprüfung am Institut für österreichische Geschichtsforschung, Wien 1962 (cited here), on the document of 1 March 1191 there is a clear gap between the signature magister Melior cardinalis" and "Massanus episcopus". Therefore, both signatures should be treated as separate ones and belonging to two different persons. CarlosPn (talk) 22:48, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- That was already my suspicion. As you know, documents often present only the initial of the person. But the publication in MGH carried authority. But, since you have the answer, and I do not have Lüpke, you should fix the text in the article. --Vicedomino (talk) 20:14, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
