Major edit

[edit]

I have reverted this major edit. A good portion of it is unsourced and much of it relies on IMDB, which we do not use as a source. @Abhigupta.93: Please read up on WP:RS before adding so much material. I do think some of it may be reliably sourced. I may try to recover some of that. --David Tornheim (talk) 10:51, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Undisclosed paid editing of this article?

[edit]

Removing an undisclosed paid editing flag since there is no indication that supports the claim. I also would like to clarify that I have no stakes in this page. -- Kediaapurva (talk) 19:51, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Doc James: You added the undisclosed paid editting tag here, which an editor just tried to remove. What was the basis for adding the tag? I am not seeing anything that clearly indicates that anyone was paid to edit the article, but I don't feel comfortable deleting it without knowing what the issue was. --David Tornheim (talk) 11:02, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I removed three of the other tags, which I do not think are necessary any more. --David Tornheim (talk) 11:11, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tried removing the “undisclosed payment” tag. Was Unable to do so. There are many genuine news links cited on this page. Could someone explain why is the page still tagged ? Basuaditya123 (talk) 09:36, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information Source

[edit]

The information that was used for creating this article was sourced from indian media articles and newspapers. The Imdb profiles used have also been verified by the portal itself. Multiple citations were also added from newspapers and magazines.

Kindly state whether Imdb is a trusted source or not. Kindly check. I do assure, all information has been referenced except for childhood and early life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abhigupta.93 (talkcontribs) 11:02, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Abhigupta.93 Unfortunately, IMDb is not considered reliable. See [1].
The information that was used for creating this article was sourced from indian media articles and newspapers. The current information is. However, much of the material you tried to add did not have sources. If you can provide sources, then you can add back the material. Please do not delete the paid editting tag until Doc James responds above. --David Tornheim (talk) 11:14, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
For example, you tried to add all this information without sources:
His father was a renowned Musician for hindi catholic music. Meghdeep spent most of his early years accompanying his father to studios for recording sessions, thus developing a keen taste towards music.
After early schooling in Indore, the family moved to Bhopal, where Meghdeep continued his studies at St Josephs Co-ed school. During this period of school years, Meghdeep trained himself  in various instruments such as keyboard, guitars, drums and other musical instruments all by himself. Being a quick learner, Meghdeep quickly perfected his skills on the instruments and started performing at local shows and events. He also started started working part time with his father, assisting him on various Projectsin arranging and programming music.
At the age of 17, Meghdeep decided to study further on the western classical music styles and hence started taking classes of Piano lessons under Dr Fr. Charles Vas SVD, eventually graduating through grades under  the curriculums of Trinity College of Music, London (Guildhall).
Around the same time he also underwent a thorough study of Rabindra Sangeet, under Mrs. Madhuri Mukherjee in Bhopal. There, he further went on to receive a "Sangeet Sri" from Rabindra Bharati University University (via Rabindra Sangam).
Apart from music, Meghdeep also completed his bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Bhopal School of Social Sciences.

This account here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Nigam.kirtimaan&action=edit&redlink=1 User:David Tornheim. We need a neutral editor to review this page. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 11:23, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Doc James Thanks for the reply. I only came to the article, because Huggle brought me here; I have no connection to the subject or even interest in it. The article is pretty well-sourced now. I think the tag can be removed. Compared to Maroon 5, which appears to be written by PR folks, this one looks pretty tame.  :) --David Tornheim (talk) 11:42, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Citation to be added

[edit]

Please note, I am not personally connected to the subject of biography, and have contributed as a passionate wikipedia contributor. There has been no monetary transaction for the same. Kindly remove the paid article tag.

Request to revive the entire write-up so that I can add reliable resources, avoiding IMDB for the entire article. I have the same in form of public newspapers and magazine articles. Kindly also allow a period of 24 hours so that the write-up can be properly cited at the points you have kindly mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abhigupta.93 (talkcontribs) 11:34, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

On the undisclosed paid editting tag, it is up to Doc James to decide on that issue, unless there is a consensus from the community that the tag needs to go. I have discussed with Doc James above. Please see that discussion. [Will respond to the rest in a moment.] --David Tornheim (talk) 11:45, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Abhigupta.93: Regarding making changes to the major edits, I copied your work to your sandbox: User:Abhigupta.93/sandbox
You can work on it there, and if you have sources, copy the appropriate wikitext to the article. Okay?
In the meantime, we do not want unreferenced material in the article.
I am okay with you adding back the image, as long as there is no WP:copyvio.
--David Tornheim (talk) 11:51, 29 December 2018 (UTC) [revised 13:51, 29 December 2018 (UTC)][reply]
Nevermind about the image. Based on a comment on your talk page, it looks there is indeed a WP:copyvio. --David Tornheim (talk) 13:51, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Process Forward

[edit]

@David Tornheim : Thank You for processing the problem. I will do the necessary tagging and citation on the sandbox. Would highly appreciate if you would inform how the article from sandbox will come back to the main article once the citations are done properly.

@Doc James Kindly consider removing the paid tag since there has been no payment regarding the same. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abhigupta.93 (talkcontribs) 12:21, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Abhigupta.93: Let me know when you have added the references in the sandbox. I can help get the material into the article. Tell me by leaving a note on my talk page here: User_talk:David_Tornheim. You can also {{ping}} editors to get their attention as I have done with you, but using the template correctly isn't that easy. The at sign ("@") you added above did not ping either me or Doc James. You have to use the proper WP:template. I wouldn't worry so much about WP:templates right now. Just work on your reliable sourcing.
Also please remember to sign your posts. --David Tornheim (talk) 12:30, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Been provided evidence that User:Abhigupta.93 is paid and related to the other one. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12:44, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

?? --David Tornheim --talk Not a regular wiki writer, so please excuse any format error here. But why does this article have paid tags if you have cleaned it up ? The person is an international artist ! Please show some respect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 42.106.218.40 (talk) 14:31, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
