Brill’s Encyclopedia of the Religions of the Indigenous People of South Asia has the following information: p. 67 says, the Southern Meena have goddesses such as Asapari and other deities. Bavaji worship is a distinctive part of the religion. p. 68 says, Bavaji are male ancestors and female ancestors are evil. Ancestors play a major role in all aspects of life.
