Notability
[edit]This should not be deleted. It has been in production for months and is filming NOW. It will also be released in just 6-7 months, thus it would be counterproductive to delete it now then have to make a new one 6 months from now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.209.112.100 (talk) 00:37, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Protect this page?
[edit]I vote that page is protected in some way, due to the recent vandalism on cast members. DanielDPeterson (talk) 23:47, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
No, The movies on so we should edit it now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chocomilkcat (talk • contribs) 04:09, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Cast list
[edit]Please discuss and achieve consensus for additions to the cast list, before editing the article. In general, non-notable cast members should not be added. This usually means that if they don't have a Wikipedia article, then they shouldn't be in the list. Exceptions can be made for particularly notable characters in the context of the film. Both characters that you keep deleting play a significant role in the plot of the film and should be put up there. I'm sure they will get Wikipedia articles soon, but for now is this really such a big deal to keep taking them down? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.209.112.100 (talk) 02:56, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Johanna vs Joanne vs Joanna
[edit]Periodically since at least 2013,[1][2][3] editors have claimed the name Joanne or Joanna is Jo's proper first name, but this has never been substantiated. More recently, an Amarillo, Texas IP user changed several of the names, for instance here in Jan 2015 and here today in late Feb 2015. I believe the Amarillo user to be a long-term disruptive user who has, for whatever small reason, decided that adding fake names to Wikipedia is his path in life. In the recent cases, that fake name appears to be Joanne. Rotten Tomatoes calls her Johanna and anything contrary to that needs to be sourced. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:46, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Starring roles
[edit]In this edit I removed the starring cast from the infobox and replaced it with a link to the Cast section. Per Template:Infobox film we derive starring credits from the film poster's billing block, however there is no billing block in the theatrical poster. This leaves the film's credits as a possible source, but in reviewing the end credits (there don't appear to be opening credits) the dozen pink actor names that are displayed before the credit crawl comprise Meaghan Martin, Maiara Walsh, Jennifer Stone, Nicole Gale Anderson, Claire Holt, Diego Boneta, Linden Ashby, Rhoda Griffis, Mike Pniewski, Patrick Johnson, Colin Dennard, and Tim Meadows. That leaves two options:
- List all 12 names in the infobox. That's sort of a bulky addition.
- Remove the names from the
|starring=
parameter and point to the cast section instead.
The version of the article that existed here after an IP editor removed Tim Meadows, is not a valid option, since the list is not consistent with Template:Infobox film instructions or with the film's credits. Someone has arbitrarily decided who the film's stars are, and that's not appropriate. A similar issue occurs in the lead, where only a few of the above-mentioned people are listed. Pick your poison.
