Full of neologisms?
[edit]It seems that this McArticle is a McMagnet for McNeologisms. Is there some sort of McThreshold for inclusion? Joyous | Talk 17:57, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- I think having a link to a valid and existing article should be a reasonable threshold. This will at least get rid of all the Mc(place where somebody died) links at the bottom. "normal usage" is another reasonable requirement, I have heard of "McProm" but never McPeanutButter. --TexasDex 18:30, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

McDrive?
[edit]What's a McDrive? Should it be McDrive Thru ? —Pengo 23:18, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- McDrive is the German term for a drive-thru. --BDD 04:40, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Also in Italy they refer to "drive thru" as McDrive
Definition
[edit]The reason why these words are invented should be more thoroughly explained. What I'm asking here is what makes something a "McSomething". Is it because of the whole "pre-packaging" and "franchising" of a concept? Please explain a little more.
- Wikipedia discourages lists and articles of newly coined words. See this page for more information. Joyous! | Talk 14:05, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Names that look like McWords
[edit]The section does not include all names of the type McSomething. Only those where the Something is somehow related to the thing named so that the end result looks like a McWord -style derogatory term. For example Master is an academic degree, thus related to universities. Guff is nonsense, thus related to a narrative device without a real function.Punainen Nörtti 16:26, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
McOz?
[edit]Okay, people of Australia, I've been there, I love you all, not trying to be rude or anything, but, well...BEETROOT?! On a hamburger?! --12.154.39.254 18:13, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Dont knock it until you try it, also i think this page is by far the funniest page on wikipedia. 203.94.54.14 (talk) 06:31, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Mcattack
[edit]Im sure i've heard that heart attack caused by obicity is called a 'Mcattack' in some circles. I know me and my mates joke about it. Just woundering if its known to be that worldwide
Grey's Anatomy "Mc"s
[edit]I don't think the nicknames McDreamy and McStreamy were created to "refer to McDonald's and its associated cultural effects" (and there's no reference saying they do) so I'm removing them.--Nonpareility 19:29, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Google test and references
[edit]The following were removed because they don't have a separate article or include a reference, and fail the Google test for notability:
- McDahmer's
- McModem
- McStomachache/McGurgles/McBrick/McTwitches/McSweats/McGas
- McMajor
- McTheatre/McMusical
- McPub
- McRomance
The following got a fact tag added because they don't have a separate article or include a reference, but pass the Google test for notability:
- McJesus
- McMedicine
- McSlave
- McKids
- McPaper/McNews
- McPomm

McDonaldization
[edit]Does anyone else think that McWords could just roll into McDonaldization? What's the big difference? Warren (talk) 01:24, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Page title: McWords vs McWord
[edit]I feel like the singular is more consistent with wikipedia naming conventions. Does anyone disagree? Will it break anything to change it? (I imagine I'd have to just copy the whole page over to McWord, and set up a redirect here. Is that correct?) Ninjalectual (talk) 02:50, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Ninjalectual: Absolutely don't cut and paste. See WP:MOVE. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 02:06, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
