New picture
[edit]The station has changed quite a bit since the picture in the article was taken. Sainsburys have built a footbridge and the "down" platform has been refurbished and brought back into use by peak rail (BTW how is the peak rail platform accessed? IIRC sainsburys promised to donate a ramp years ago). Anyone fancy getting a (freely licensed) picture of the station as it stands today? Plugwash (talk) 20:24, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- I've since been there (didn't get round to taking a picture though sorry) and the down platform is accessed by a small surface level ramp near the sainsburys end (the path leading from the footbridge to sainsburys slopes downwards next to the platform. - I did try to get some new photos but they weren't too good because of the shadows. I'll try again in a while. Interestingly no one has mentioned the fuss over the footbridge - I've found a photo of the previous Midland Railway bridge for comparison. Another point is that the new bus station has not proved popular with Matlock people who prefer the old location nearer the town centre.Chevin (talk) 17:38, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- I see someone has replaced the photo, however afaict the current photo still doesn't reflect the station today (it appears to have been taken after the second line was relaid but before the platform was rebuilt).
- As for the footbridge IMO it doesn't look too bad from inside the station, it's the massive access ramp outside that looks out of place. Plugwash (talk) 14:26, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
