The "Bay State"
[edit]I'd be interested to know whether the nickname "Bay State" really does (as we assert) refer to Narragansett Bay, Buzzards Bay, and Cape Cod Bay, not only to Massachusetts Bay. I had always assumed that since it was the Massachusetts Bay Colony and later the Province of Massachusetts Bay before turning into the state/commonwealth of Massachusetts, the nickname is just a nod to Massachusetts Bay. 65.213.77.129 (talk) 14:04, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
