Copied over from another Wiki (being written by me) to start the article off - so can be developed/WP-ified.

Could 'the proverbial someone' cross link with the Spanish WP article (and/or translate).

I think this is her obit [1] Jackiespeel (talk) 21:00, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could the 'translate from Spanish WP article' marker be added as well - as she is there she is notable enough to be on the English one. Jackiespeel (talk) 16:46, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's the correct obituary only if she was in her 60s when she started her work on the manuscript and think that her obituary wouldn't mention her writings.Mdtemp (talk) 21:41, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is not unknown for such detail to be ignored - and it does seem to be one of those 'less common' names which are more common than one expects. Jackiespeel (talk) 22:00, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So do you think she was in her 60s when he started her work on the VM? Is she actually dead? I did a quick database search and found 14 living people with that name, so you should be careful about making obituary claims.Mdtemp (talk) 18:06, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, that obit is Mary R, she is Mary E. See e.g. a 2015 ref for Mary E ... https://abcbirds.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/ABC-Annual-Report-2015_ONLINE-FINAL.pdf Cancerward (talk) 11:37, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No initial on the page (which would aid future research). Jackiespeel (talk) 16:24, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I agree. Not good enough to make it into the article, but pretty clear it's the same person based on the birding interest. Similarly, she has articles in Cryptolog [1] on "Human Factors" (Apr 82, May 82, Nov 84), "Passwords" (Dec 82), "More On Passwords" (Mar 83), and a "Sun Users Group" (2nd issue 1988) and wrote several of the other "Human Factors" columns there. But (IMHO) they don't seem like particularly interesting articles. Cancerward (talk) 03:48, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Pointer to article list added - even though the name is redacted, the author is clear based on "The Joys of Unix" being included; so this isn't "Original Research". Cancerward (talk) 11:21, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hence the query it above, rather than putting it in the article page. Jackiespeel (talk) 09:23, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is slightly more detail here [2]. Jackiespeel (talk) 09:10, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The link is a sufficiently reliable source - and the tags need changing. Jackiespeel (talk) 10:10, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can I just remove the 'BLP' tag from the top of this talk page - I doubt there are any issues likely to arise. Jackiespeel (talk) 11:36, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
